“NEW YORK (AP) – For the first time, the top export of the United States, the world’s biggest gas guzzler, is — wait for it — fuel.” “Measured in dollars, the nation is on pace this year to ship more gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel than any other single export, according to U.S. Census data going back to 1990. It will also be the first year in more than 60 that America has been a net exporter of these fuels.”

Assuming this article is correct, why do we need the Keystone pipeline?

ella commented on the blog post A Few Thoughts on the Debt Limit Deal
Where are the automatic tax/revenue increases in this debt deal? Why not add phasing out the Bush tax cuts, the high exemption for the estate tax, the numerous tax loopholes, and the implementation of a Tobin tax (transaction tax on all stock and bond purchases) Once again, no has considered the effect of Tax entitlements, privatization of government services, no bid contract entitlements, and on and on. Only the elites and chattering class thinks’ this debt deal effects both sides equally? Plain and simple the R’s have once again won and they will continue to win because the D’s allow them to. Think you will receive support from the D’s in 2012? Think again, I know numerous D’s who are vowing to sit the next election out. Stand up for the middle class and recommend voting against a deal that does not include automatic revenue increases.

ella commented on the blog post The Day Senate Democrats Got Angry
I have just sent this to my Senators, Senators Reid, Democratc.org and the DCCC. Will send to Obama next. Feel free to do the same.
Tax entitlements are not constitutionally protected. The cost of the Bush wars, Bush tax cuts, Bush pharma giveaways in Medicare part D and Bush no bid contracts have driven us into a financial hole. The Republicans magical believe in tax entitlements will never balance the budget. Do we need to reduce entitlements because we have promised to much? Yes. Lets start with the tax entitlements first for we have clearly promise economic benefits that will never occur.
Only people who believe in the tax entitlement fairy think that a budget can be balanced on the expenditure side with no additions to the revenue side. Good Luck.
Lastly, I along with many other Democrats will sit the next election cycle out if the Democrats cut SS, Medicare or Medicaid. Why would we ever support a Democrat again when they can not support the middle class? Time to stand up for your base.

ella commented on the blog post Health Cuts in Debt Limit Proposal Mainly Cost-Shifting
According to Republicans, closing tax loop holes is raising taxes because the beneficiary of the loop hole will pay more. Thus, raising the cost of Medicare and Medicaid on the beneficiaries and Social security by reduction in benefits is also raising taxes because the beneficiary will pay more. Why do the Republicans want to raise taxes on Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security beneficiaries?

Eliminate tax entitlements.
Tax entitlements are not constitutionally protected. The cost of the Bush wars, Bush tax cuts, Bush pharma giveaways in Medicare part D and Bush no bid contracts have driven us into a financial hole. The Republicans belief in magical tax entitlements will never balance the budget or create jobs.
Do we need to reduce entitlements because we have promised too much? Yes. Let’s start with the tax entitlements first for we have clearly promise economic benefits that will never occur. Instead of prosperity, 30 years of tax entitlements and supply side economics have devastated the economy, government revenues and the middle class.
Only people who believe in the tax entitlement fairy think that a budget can be balanced on the expenditure side with no additions to the revenue side. Good Luck. -

ella commented on the blog post Amazon Cuts Loose 25,000 Affiliates in California After Passage of Online Sales Tax Law
In Washington state Amazon routinely collects sales tax and remits it to the state. The collection of the 9% tax has not diminished Amazon’s sales. Even with the sales tax, fee shipping and sizable discounts purchases are still a better deal than most main street retailers.

Let me see if I understand this… The man who is the former Speaker of the House, the so called intellectual of the Republican party, the man who would be President of the United States was tricked by David Gregory? WOW, if you have that much experience and you are that smart how could you be tricked by a journalist? And if you were tricked, how could you ever be President in a world where so many practice the art of deceit?

ella commented on the blog post Talks Fail to Produce Continuing Resolution Agreement, With One Day To Go
Where are the cuts to TAX ENTITLEMENTS? The R’s want to cut social programs, well I say cut the same amount of money from TAX ENTITLEMENTS. Where is the reciprocity? Where?
If you are serious about the budget, then you must cut TAX ENTITLEMENTS. The R’s must stop protecting the TAX ENTITLEMENTS for their base.

Let’s call it what it is… END MEDICARE WITH GOPCARE. Gopcare will be good for the ubers, who can afford their own care, make tons of money off the public with increased health care costs and deny care to seniors with GopCare death panels. Everyone knows private insurance, routinely denies care to their insured… more money for the insurance co and less health care for you. GO GopCare or should it be go RepublicanCare, BonerCare… We need to identify it.

ella commented on the blog post A weekend with the Swells
America, we have a revenue problem. Since the bush tax cuts, tax revenues have fallen 30% in real terms from 2000 to 2010. Income taxes per capita fell 36% because there was an increase in the population. Corporate profits were up 60% but their taxes fell 27% and 34% per capita. Lowered taxes DID NOT INCREASE FEDERAL TAX REVENUE the proof is in the numbers. http://www.tax.com/taxcom/taxblog.nsf/Permalink/UBEN-8EL2Y8?OpenDocument
Why then do some continue to tell us that American has a spending problem and not a revenue problem? Why do they tell us that America has the highest corp tax rate in the world, when many corps pay effective tax rates of the low single digits? Why do some continue to tell us that lowering taxes increase revenue? Why do some continue to tell us the America does not have to pay for tax cuts?
Why are the tax cuts and subsidies for the rich not identified as “Tax Entitlements”? No wonder some call us the sheeple.

Take a hard look at the non-seasonally adjusted claims, before cheering. Some argue that the non-seasonally claims are more accurate. The non-seasonally adjusted claims this week were up to 521,834 a 24,879 increase over last week’s non-seasonally adjusted claims of 497k. http://www.zerohedge.com/article/initial-claims-print-388k-far-lower-expectations-418k-non-seasonally-adjusted-claims-jump-52
Do the same with the pending existing home sales data, it paints a different picture. CNBC reported this AM that the data from Oct. had been revised downward which makes the Dec month over month data look better. ella commented on the blog post On “60 Minutes”, John Boehner Demonstrates Yet Again That Republicans Don’t Care About the Deficit
“Boehner: ‘I Reject The Word’ Compromise” This has only just begun.
Compromise, what a compromise? Remember, remember how the R’s compromise when they are in the majority and the minority. When in the majority, ram through as much as you can during the first few months of a new Congress. Always ride roughshod over the minority. Never ever compromise. When the R’s are in the minority never ever compromise. Pretend and extend the time for negotiating. Use the time to demonize the majority and their policies. Delay and block appointments and legislation. Demand legislative language to weaken their bills, then filibuster their bills and lastly do not vote for their bills. Congratulate yourself for your successful strategy.
Never forget and always demand that the D’s compromise with you. Remember that the D’s are weak and will compromise with you. The R’s understand the game of politics and claim that they put nation first. They know that the media will never look closely, will never check but only listen to the R’s rhetoric. The nation will not know or remember the facts because few will tell them unless the D’s can learn from the R’s and adopt the same tactics. But it is doubtful the D’s will ever figure it out.
