Everything this guy believes and says seems to be filtered through his Catholicism and nothing more. Women as 2nd class creatures, LTBG people being sick, etc. Pandering to the rich and powerful. It’s all from the Vatican playbook.
Emelye Waldherr commented on the blog post GLAAD, HRC team on ad in Variety about ABC’s upcoming sitcom ‘Work It’
Cristan Williams did a better job than I could about why this show is so offensive. http://www.cristanwilliams.com/b/2011/12/19/about-work-it/
She maintains, and I agree, that it’s a show about cis people’s idea about what being trans is all about, thus making it the equivalent of a blackface minstrel show. This may have been acceptable in the past, as we saw in the TV shows and films mentioned by wewannawii but it is not acceptable anymore. The trans community is fighting for their dignity and the respect they deserve as equal members of this culture and society. Shows like “Work It” promote opposition to this battle.
Emelye Waldherr commented on the blog post Anti-LGBT pastor targets NC Macy’s — it lets ‘sex perverts’ use the dressing room
“I further asked her if a sex pervert came into the store and sought admittance into the ladies dressing room would they allow him to do so.”
It’s funny how this a$$hat thinks the Macy’s management can tell who’s a “sexual pervert” and who isn’t just by looking at them. It’s not surprising though. Irrationality is this kind of christianist’s stock in trade.
Emelye Waldherr commented on the blog post Family Research Council’s professional hate funds radio ads in support of NC marriage amendment
“Powerful voices in our state capitol are threatening your right to vote on marriage.” This is the kind of distortions they commonly use against us. Where in the US or NC constitutions is it given that voters get to vote on the basic civil rights of others?
FRC got the SPLC hate group designation for just this kind of base propaganda. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
