I think The Guardian is still okay. I’ve just started reading there after leaving Huffington Post in disgust (which I’ve been intending to do anyway and was just there to see what “news” the masses are being fed, since I don’t have a TV, but now they’ll be starting real-name commenting in their greed for [...]

  • Sorry, but the stench of Trojan Horse is bad with that one. Have we learned nothing from putting all our energy into virtual unknowns who are suddenly elevated to the level of “savior”? Especially someone hand-picked by the first Trojan Horse? Her vote against allowing states to require labeling of GMO killed the deal for [...]

Fantastic and beautiful, and I will share widely.

  • Hideous example of the short-sighted, ignorant mindset that has put the planet on a suicide course, all for the sake of a few dollars saved. Take your “cheap frack-fuel” and drink a gallon of it, along with a big bag of toxin-enriched GMO corn chips.

I am disgusted that I myself “caved” and signed a pointless petition “from Daily Kos and CREDO telling Harry Reid to go nuclear and implement real filibuster reform if Republicans do not immediately confirm all of the nominees he filed on July 11.” It’s become a matter of principle to me that I not sign [...]

In addition to cheap labor for corps and more money for private “security contractors,” the double-dipping welfare-queen leeches in Congress also openly crow about how it will mean “more taxes paid into the system,” a lot more taxes, implying that additional income tax revenue will somehow benefit Americans, average everyday tax-paying Americans — they think [...]

There is also this list of brands, mostly related to building and construction, Georgia-Pacific subsidiaries in particular — from 2010, so maybe not exactly up to date:

Here’s exactly what happened, fool: http://frederickleatherman.com/2013/07/14/a-remorseless-child-killer-is-a-free-man-today-in-sanford-florida/ Twist yourself into a pretzel defending this monster, this cretin, this racist p#%ck who was so cowardly and craven, so devoid of humanity or intellect, he couldn’t wait to shoot to kill even though he knew cops were on their way, even though he could have just stayed where [...]

he said himself, in one of his many concocted and conflicting stories, he had to see what street he was on. You have outdone yourself in this thread defending a coward, total liar, and outright racist creep who couldn’t mind his own business and ended up killing an unarmed teenager. What kind of person believes [...]

but poor widdle zimmy had to get out of his car “to see what street he was on,” because he’d lived there for 4 years and had been the neighborhood wannabe cop for almost that long and there were only 3 streets in the whole complex but somehow remembering the street names after years of [...]

Another win for the NRA, which I believe invested millions in tainting the case. Now that the creepy ass cracka is no longer useful to them, though, he’s on his own and hopefully will be bankrupted for life by the civil suit to come. I will never cross the border into that state, since it’s [...]

I have absolutely no technical know-how but do know that “spam bot eliminators” regard indecipherable usernames with suspicion, maybe even with automatic rejection. Maybe try reregistering with a name that won’t look like something randomly generated?

The great majority of those are likely astroturfers running multiple-persona software, as described more than two years ago re (surprise, surprise) a defense contractor:

for a defense contractor with ties to the federal government, Hunton & Williams, DOD, NSA, and the CIA – whose enemies are labor unions, progressive organizations, journalists, and progressive bloggers, a persona [...]

  • At DU they have “the BOG,” the Barack Obama Group (or had such, the last time I looked, a long time ago) — here there is The Barack Obama Groupie Group which seems to be in its own compartment where I will never go again, but it doesn’t seem to affect the whole site.

  • I get the idea he was groomed for a long, long time. He came out of nowhere, with a largely “absent” record in the Illinois state senate, and was suddenly a superstar, with an unprecedentedly lavish entire-floor shmooze party and an aggressive army of supporters storming the primaries with shiny new iPads. Big BIG bucks behind him, Howdy Doody retooled to be presidential, and We The People were totally bamboozled and conned. Just for insurance, the easily predictable, obviously losing combination of McCain/Palin was run; Palin was a particularly useful idiot for driving voters to crawl over broken glass in revulsion and fear at the idea of this hickish trollop actually attaining the White House (esp with McCain being portrayed as kind of decrepit and feeble and mentally nonastute). Per their usual style, he was rammed through whether we really wanted him or not — I’d been calling him a tool in the making for quite a while before that but came around to him as my 2nd-to-last choice (Hillary being last), against my better judgment (that was the last time for me for that one, though).

  • wow — did I miss something in the TOS? Something about all comrades must swear fealty and goosestep to the Corporate Party or else? How very very rude. Gee, I guess I’ll watch what I say here — not.

  • Gee — after HIllary, Chelsea could run — and the Bushes are always producing more spawn — doesn’t GWB have a grandchild now? These dynasty retread presidencies are soooo American … esp when they’re all sponsored by the war-profiteering Corporate Welfare Party.

“habeus corpus” and “due process” are so last millennium, especially when a president can’t get a good “mission accomplished” PRpalooza moment. The supremely evil, eviler than Hitler, Idi Amin and Charles Manson combined “Osama bin Laden” thingie was finally folded up and put away (a long-lasting prop, that one) and we’re so much better off for it, aren’t we?
