ezpz commented on the blog post Obama Defends NSA Spying Program
Obama conveniently stuttered his way out of answering the rubber stamp question, which Rose asked in two different ways:
1) Charlie directly asked if the FISA court was a rubber stamp.
2) He asked if FISA ever turned down a request.
Neither time did O answer the question. He blabbed and stuttered, but no answer.

The talking points defending this are stunning.
They must really think the populace is stoopid, and I don’t blame them. Just look at all the blind obamabots as well as the former bushbots.Another ridiculous talking point I recently heard – not once, but twice – was that in order to find the needle in the haystack, you need the haystack!
HUH? Wouldn’t it be easier to find the needle if it wasn’t in a haystack?

I’m sorry. Not that it’s any comfort, but you’re certainly not alone. And I hate to say it, but it’s only just begun. Actually, it hasn’t even really begun at all and won’t until the law goes into full effect next year.

Why bother wasting time and money investigating, which is all just for show anyway, when they have collected all the data they need to find who leaked this?

YW. It certainly is a great site.

ezpz commented on the blog post Surveillance State Secrecy & the Top Secret Court Order to Hand Over Verizon Call Data to NSA
Worth a repost…The following site is great at showing the strong similarities between Bush and Obama, and in most cases, how Obama has outbushed Bush. It also shows the huge gap between Obama’s words and his actions or lack thereof:

It should never be forgotten that the design of the ACA was one of the most profoundly stupid political moves in modern times. If you are tying your political future to the success of a law, never give your opposition the responsibility of implementing it.
A win/win for democrats and the corporations that own them.
If it does not succeed, and it won’t, they’ll just blame republicans.
Meanwhile, insurance, pharma, for profit hospital industries will all benefit via the mandate and/or the tax for noncompliance, as well as the tax on your Cadillac Plans.

Someone on another site posted a great link that documents what a clusterf**k the ACA is and will be:

I, too, voted for Dr. Jill Stein, and yes, it certainly did feel good to do that. It was the first time I ever voted for ANYONE who didn’t wear the D label. (I never voted R.) Like you, I’m also finished with the Democratic Party.

“On the bright side, it could be worse”
I used to say that when I was going through some tough times years back, and every time I said that, lo and behold, things DID get worse.
I don’t say it anymore.

There really is nothing “uplifting” that can be said about this administration.
I can’t believe I actually bought the snake oil back in 2008, though I did snap out of it very quickly. By the time of his first inauguration, I had his number and there was nothing he could have said or done that would have convinced me that he ever did or could tell the truth. About anything. Needless to say, I didn’t vote for him in 2012. -

What a sick joke Obama and his brand of democrats have played on us…
…To close that credibility gap we have to take action on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue — to end the outsized influence of lobbyists; to do our work openly; to give our people the government they deserve. (Applause.)
That’s what I came to Washington to do. That’s why -– for the first time in history –- my administration posts on our White House visitors online. That’s why we’ve excluded lobbyists from policymaking jobs, or seats on federal boards and commissions….”

“I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this race to take on lobbyists — and won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.”

I’m not listening, though I do have it on in the background, but to what you said he said – wow!
I have a very bad feeling about this. With the recent revelation of the biggest spy center ever, spying on journalists with impunity – even going so far as to accuse one journalist of criminal activity under the Espionage Act, well, I think he’s cryptically announcing that he will start droning target in the USA.

Bingo.
No, it’s not at all ‘hard to say’ what this was. In fact, it’s pretty clear. And even with this *firing*, he’s still staying on until June. I thought when people got fired, they were asked to leave immediately – that is after they’re allowed to gather their personal possessions, with every move monitored to make sure the fire-ee doesn’t take a company pencil or paper clip.
They must really think we’re stooopid. And with so many obamabots – they might be right.

I know, right? That kind of hit me too. With the Ds becoming more and more indistinguishable from the Rs, and Obama offering up cuts to SS/Medicare, the Right can now run against the Ds by moving to the left of them (Ds). There’s plenty of room to the left of Obama for even a [...]
