Maybe because the actual email is not much better and they’d rather not draw any more attention to it.

ezpz commented on the blog post IRS Commissioner Fired
Bingo.
No, it’s not at all ‘hard to say’ what this was. In fact, it’s pretty clear. And even with this *firing*, he’s still staying on until June. I thought when people got fired, they were asked to leave immediately – that is after they’re allowed to gather their personal possessions, with every move monitored to make sure the fire-ee doesn’t take a company pencil or paper clip.
They must really think we’re stooopid. And with so many obamabots – they might be right.

ezpz commented on the diary post Senator Elizabeth Warren: Asking Sensible Questions by jeffc.
I know, right? That kind of hit me too. With the Ds becoming more and more indistinguishable from the Rs, and Obama offering up cuts to SS/Medicare, the Right can now run against the Ds by moving to the left of them (Ds). There’s plenty of room to the left of Obama for even a [...]

Wall Street’s Been So Obsessed With Elizabeth Warren It Missed The Real Threat In The Senate

Bottom line — she’s a politician, and I believe her ‘switch’ from R to D was for political expedience, and/or, as you say, because the Ds were behaving more and more like the Rs. After great sounding rhetoric from Obama and others,I no longer jump on anyone’s bandwagon because they say what we want to [...]

Then there’s this little tidbit … Elizabeth Warren:
“I was a Republican because I thought that those were the people who best supported markets. I think that is not true anymore,” Warren said. “I was a Republican at a time when I felt like there was a problem that the markets were under a lot more strain. It [...]

Agree – especially when her actions/votes don’t match the rhetoric. Let’s not forget that she voted to confirm Jack Lew.

When I heard about this brain ‘research’ initiative yesterday, my first thought was Orwell’s 1984 thought police, replete with *the* big screen in each and every home.

ezpz commented on the blog post Attorney General Holder Claims Aaron Swartz Prosecution Was ‘Good Use of Prosecutorial Discretion’
Thank you for your reply…
Good points – all of them, but I’d like to think that there’s something in between “nicey-nice” and “rhetorical violence”. I never said or even implied that we need to be all sweet all the time, if EVER, for that matter.I agree that we need to be informed, as well as try to inform others whenever/wherever we get the opportunity. I don’t mince words when I run into some obamabot, just as I didn’t with the bush defenders. I try to make them aware of what’s going on, until my patience wears thin because I see that their party loyalty renders them deaf and blind to facts.
It just doesn’t feel right (to me) to express ‘rhetorical violence’ while trying to educate someone about the violence being perpetrated by our govt on innocent, poor, elderly, disabled people across the globe and at home.

What do you suggest?
Look, I have no problem with civil disobedience, and I’m no saint, but in my humble opinion, no good can come from violence. Period.

ezpz commented on the blog post Attorney General Holder Claims Aaron Swartz Prosecution Was ‘Good Use of Prosecutorial Discretion’
I know wishing violence is not the same as *real* violence. The points you make are all valid. Yes, MLK was killed in a hail of bullets, but had he taken up arms, I believe it would have happened sooner than it did. My point is simply that wishing violence on another demeans and degrades what would otherwise be an important message one is trying to make.

I don’t equate ‘cum bye yah’ with taking the high road.
Yes, they are thugs. They are despicable. Does that mean we need to stoop down to their level and become thugs too?I don’t condone violence. Period.

Yes, Eric Holder is awful. He’s complicit in all the egregious in/actions you mention, as well as an accessory after the fact.
However, I think points are better and more effectively made when we take the high road a la Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Worth noting here is that again, it was a republican asking these questions.
And I’m no republican, but I’m also no longer a democrat. -

I have to agree. One can dislike and disapprove of someone without wishing harm or violence on that person.

ezpz commented on the blog post BREAKING: Senator Rand Paul Filibuster Breaks 8 Hours
IF his heart’s in the right place, his votes certainly don’t reflect that; nor do they show that he has the courage of his convictions. In fact, I have to question if he even HAS convictions, or he just likes to sound like he’s principled…
…If Bernie had any real credibility as a Senator, and one who once called himself a Socialist, he should have urged to the point of filibuster that we ‘went over the cliff’, not side with the Wall Streeter-in-Chief.
Senator Sanders fools a lot of people. He gets to be on the Ed Show. But he’s a Democratic Party hack just the same and votes more with this corporate party than most Democrats. He’s got a good tongue. But as it wags, his finger is on the ‘Aye’ button for Wall Street.
