Faith commented on the blog post Bradley Manning: Punitive Psychiatric Status Remains, but Hopeful About Youth Uprising in Tunisia and Egypt
My husband and I will continue to pray for Bradley and keep up with the news about him. He has been on my mind and heart all week, and I have prayed much for him. Tell him not to despair for he is not alone; God is with him. Tell him God has a very special love for him, and is not oblivious to his suffering. Finally, tell him that the things that are impossible with men are possible with God. Nothing is too difficult for Him, not even setting him free. I will pray to that end.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I think we are already in the first stages of a dictatorship. If the President reads this blog, and doesn’t like what he reads, it is my understanding that he has the power to declare any of the commentators here to be terrorists to be assassinated. Thus part of the Constitution has already been replaced by the word of a man–the right to a fair trial. It is of the utmost importance, I believe, that this “right” of the President to assassinate (murder) American citizens be struck down by the Supreme Court. Otherwise “America the free” will be a thing of the past. That is my humble opinion.

If this is true, then the military is in desperate need of a brain transplant. To place a person in need of psychiatric care in a position to do what Manning is accused of doing is asinine. But I don’t believe anything they say, because they lie all the time. They are squandering a very precious commodity: the public’s trust.

They lie all the time. So how can you believe anything they say?

He reminds me of a Russian half-wit despotic king of days gone by. Sorry. I just had to say it. I hope they don’t put me in the cell next to Manning, in maximum security and on suicide watch.

This flunky is boss to a colonel? I cannot believe that!

How does the Pentagon get away with such outrageous lying? This guy is soooooo insulting to one’s intelligence. I have a name for this guy, but I’m not going to use it, because my comment would be kicked off this site. (It’s also not very Christian-like; I’d have to repent afterwards.)

I’m not sure if this is about the Marines, but about our government becoming corrupt. We are all at risk. Bradley Manning MUST have justice (“innocent until proven guilty”) or else we are doomed to live in a totalitarian state. America the free will be no more. Things are moving fast in that direction.

Faith commented on the blog post DoD Spokesman: Everyone in Quantico Brig At Risk of Harming Themselves
I just watched the video. I can’t believe this is the spokesperson for the Pentagon. How can they win a war when their judgement allows them to pick such a person as their spokesperson. I am just incredulous. I just couldn’t stop laughing, watching this video; his statements are just so ridiculous. Good night, America.

What kind of idiots are running our government?

I think that’s an excellent suggestion. Get the facts and expose the liar.

I don’t believe it.

Thank you for taking the trouble to find this out. I’m just a bit less suspicious now. I used to be a staunch believer in and strong supporter of the military just 3 short years ago. My disillusionment with the military is not unfounded, and it didn’t start with Bradley Manning.

There’s Ft. George G. Meade in Maryland that’s close to D.C. (between Baltimore and Washington D.C). Why not put him there? It’s Army, and even a little closer to D.C. than Quantico.

Faith commented on the blog post Judge Napolitano on Bradley Manning and David House: “KGB-Like Government Tactics are Obscenely Un-American”
The fact that they lied about the ticket discredits them further in my eyes. How can they expect people to believe them when they lie all the time? “Wer einmal luegt dem glaubt man nicht, und wenn er auch die Wahrheit spricht.” (Whoever lies once, even when he speaks the truth he is not believed.)

Your explanation makes perfect sense and is well-supported. I wouldn’t bother with bluenote2 anymore. He/she is just trying to get your goat.

I totally agree.

This is a continuation of my comment: For that to be possible, for WalMart to hire me and Sears to fire me, there has to be a third party, that is over them both, and has the authority to fire me.

Faith commented on the blog post Marines Boot Commander Ordering Abuse of Bradley Manning
Someone pointed this out on another thread. How is it that an Army Private who signed a contract with the Army, is in a Marine brig? The Marines are under the authority of the Secretary of the Navy, while the Army falls under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Army. PFC Bradley Manning is answerable to the Secretary of the Army, not the Secretary of the Navy. It’s like me getting a job at WalMart, and getting fired by Sears if I mess up. At least that’s the way it seems to me.
