Greetings to you, E. F. Beall. Yes, the elephant story was the best all right. Hope that one elephant started a trend.

Your “take” on the Medea Benjamin appearance makes a lot of sense. It’ll be interesting to see what Code Pink says about it, if they say anything at all.

How neat! Those baby elephants were just wonderful. Hope they all grow up to stomp poachers.

And did you see that rabbit? It’s almost as large as one of the baby elephants. It’ll probably join up with the elephants and stomp some poachers, too. Heck, it could lead them!

Many thanks, tuezday, I’m sure others will appreciate your link as much as I.

You have a great weekend, too, allan!

And here’s a related one. The US labels country-of-origin for meat, poultry, etc., but we can’t know when food is GMO? Sheesh!

” I wanna pull their hair out”. You are soooo right, wendydavis, and yours is a much better approach to the problem. No need for minoxidil that way, either.

Oh, that Bloomberg article! I do hope Elizabeth Warren keeps raising her voice loud and clear about this crap. Who knows, maybe someday another voice will join her. When you’ve got such close–ahem–”cooperation” between the Democrats and the banksters . . . Well, we sure know where that leads and leaves us!

Thanks so much for the link.

Hey, thnx, wendydavis. All you can do sometimes with these news items is just shake your head, or maybe pull your hair out. And that’s the case with Sanders’ labeling bill defeat–71 to 27–when the thing would simply “allow” states to label food as GMO not say they had to. As my GA grandmother would’ve said, “Don’t that beat all?”

“You go, Gurl”–Yep, you nailed it, wendydavis. Thnx so much.

Thanks so much, blueokie. You are most kind. And, yes, I must say my morning is now complete, too, back here at the old Roundup. Which reminds me: I gotta go rustle up some more news.

    See you this evening!

So glad to see you, too, OmAli! Tickles me that over in England they keep finding ancient burials under their car parks. So, maybe we should re-think our complete revulsion to paving over paradise and let a little bit be paved over so future generations can discover remnants from our eras–and be so proud of themselves when they do.

Aw, thnx so much, wendydavis. Your idea is a good one (of course) and I will pass it on. And you’re also right that those of us on the Western slope of life can’t pretend all’s as intact as when we were climbing up that eastern one.

    :)

That is promising news, mafr. I’m trying not to get my hopes up that this whole filthy, destructive structure will collapse in on itself. Sure do appreciate the link.

    And . . . Good Morning!

So, the jolly old Sir Mervyn wants us to just use common sense.

Well, common sense tells you if people don’t have money, they can’t buy goods and services. And common sense tells you if people can’t buy goods and services, then the people who make the goods and provide the services will not be able to earn any money any more, so they’ll go out of business or get laid off and become poor veery quickly.

Common sense–actually it’s common data now–tells you that a tiny group is amassing unprecedented amounts of wealth nowadays. The huge group, mainly out of work and suffering, has less and less; the tiny group has more and more. So what does common sense tell you about that, Sir Mervyn?

They know what the answer is. It’s becoming increasingly, painfully obvious over the past few weeks. And they are back-pedalling with all their might, red in the face and out of breath.

THnx a bunch, allan. Sir Mervyn never fails.

Many thnx, JamesJoyce, and I missed all of you, too.

At your prompting ,I did go back a step or two and found this, which is just begging for somebody to write up a post using the data.

I hope it helps answer some of your questions anyway.

It’s starting to look like Boeing’s best days (remember Scoop Jackson, the “Senator from Boeing”) are now memories, doesn’t it, allan? Don’t remember why they started moving from Seattle; maybe over the weekend I’ll have time to check that out. Thnx so much for the link.

“Beautiful pictures”? Why, it’s beautiful picture and beautiful music–just beautiful all the way around. And I hadn’t thought of Charles Lloyd in just ages, prostratedragon. Thank you so much for this gift this evening. How can I help but have nice dreams–and hope you do, too.

You certainly have gathered together quite a bit of evidence, E.F. Beall. Good work! And thanks for letting us know about this over at the Roundup.

Thnx so much, mafr. I found the article, I believe, and, yes, it is a thoughtful analysis of the situation in Iran. That move to simply bar the other candidates seems like a huge statement: “I can’t win if they run.”
