First a little background. My wife thinks that NCAA stands for the National Commitee for the Advancement of African-americans. She has only slightly more knowledge about college basketball than Fetus Santorum. (Okay i’m joking, she has no idea what NCAA stands for). We were awaiting the arrival of our neighbors before heading out for dinner when i informed my wife i wasn’t leaving the house until the conclusion of the Lehigh-Duke game. The neighbors arrive with about 5 minutes left in the game (or 25-30 minutes in realtime), a bottle of wine is unscrewed and we settle in. With about a minute left Lehigh gets a breakaway slamdunk pretty much sealing Dukes fate. My wife leaps off the couch pumping her fist in the air and yelling “yah yah yeehoo!”. The neighbors are stunned and remark that in the 12 years we’ve known each other they had never seen my wife so emotional during a televised sporting event. To me this just personifies the fact that even the uninformed and uninterested find it necessary to stand up and say SUCK IT DUKE!
