You and Schwytzer are both right. It’s really a combination of both toxic patriarchy and toxic privilege.

Many of the bloggers and commenters over at Freethought Blogs (freethoughtblogs.com) cover the patriarchy/misogyny/privilege beat extensively and well, if anyone needs another source. (Word to the wise, Freethought Blogs is un- ir- and often anti-religous. Best to lurk rather than comment unless you want to do combat with logic and reason.)

Considering that Mr Romney (RMoney) is consecrated and has been some sort of high-up elder in the Mormon Church, I’d say that, yes, he really does believe all this and that he really does support other people who believe all this.

There are plenty of ex-mormons who blog about their outrageous former beliefs, so, in fairness, don’t just take my (or jamiegriggs’) word for it.

Good on you for being willing to reconsider.

Oh, I know the feeling! I’m still trying to recover from the Big Camping Adventure…as in “whaddayamean I ought to put things away?!”

I’ve been healthy, losing some weight and eating much better. Getting tired of the chilly, wet and gray weather, even if it _is_ typical of Seattle in June.
