  • It depends on what you mean by “hurt”. Some of them did get hurt feelings because now some undeserving cadillac driving welfare queens will get health care, but as for loss of anything actually real? Not so much.

  • Up here in Manitoba Canada, our single payer health care system is incredibly complex to use.

First, they send you out a card with your health number on it.

Then when you go to a doctor you give them the card and they type your number into their files.

If you have to get surgery you have to give them the card and they type your number into their files.

When you buy drugs you have to give them the card and they type your number into their files.

Then you go home and heal up.

I don’t know what she was all upset about, I asked!

Let’s get the Creationists to clean up Fukushima! They don’t believe in science so they should be perfectly happy to do it!

We will even let them pray while they work and sing gospel songs or whatever they want!

It’s magical thinking. I get into these big arguments with my friend who agrees the climate is changing but thinks we’ll just adapt.

I point out that the oceans are getting too acidic to support life and he just thinks we’ll find another food source. I tell him the population of the earth is 7 billion and growing and he just thinks we’ll find more food.

I tell him the earth can only provide food for 10 billion people and he just thinks we’ll find more efficient ways to grow food.

You really can’t get through to these people. He simply doesn’t believe the world his children inherit will be worse than the one he sees around him. No reason for it really, it just happens to be what he prefers to think.

Please do not bring about a nuclear apocalypse to prove to the haters that you’re not a wimp.

    Thanks.

More and more, the younger generation is coming to the realization that the older generation makes Bad Choices and will usually offer some bullshit excuse as to why their choice is good with the expectation that said bullshit excuse will be accepted without question.

More and more, the younger generation is finding that Questions Must Be Asked.

  • His own team will probably be supportive as hell, it’s the fans and the other teams that will rag on him about it. That’s part of the game, trying to get under the guy’s skin.

CO2 is not oxygen. You can get refills for CO2 tanks pretty cheap at fire and safety equipment stores (recharge fire extinguishers).

Plus you can use the CO2 tank and an old cornelius (soda) keg to force carbonate homebrew and that opens up a whole world of hobby…

We at the shelter see Christmas as a blessing and a curse. Christmas tends to make people more willing to donate to our cause, but it also results in an influx of Christmas Animals a few weeks later.

The problem is you have the media constantly reinforcing the idea that America is the bestest and greatest country at everything ever anywhere, and if anyone dares to contradict that they are tarred, feathered, ridden out of town on a rail and called a “liberal”.

Unless the service is atrocious, I usually tip fairly well. I also worked in the food service industry, but as a dish washer … so I never got any tips.

Anyway my dad refuses to leave tips because “these people get paid by the restaurant” but he also refuses to eat at restaurants where the meals are more than ten bucks.

    He’s kind of a dick.

Drones and land mines fall into the same category. They do not require humans to be at the detonation point and kill innocents.

If the rest of the world decided to ban such drones the U.S. would react the same way they did with the land mine ban.
