That reminds me of when a friend of my brother and myself climbed the fence into the Russian embassy compound on Long Island in the suburbs of New York City. We came across something that looked strange to me, but that Jeffrey recognized as a missile silo. I said, “Let’s get away from it immediately. We don’t want it known that we saw this.” We then went to the playscape in sight of the main house and were playing with the kids on the swings. Eventually someone came down from the house. We said we found a hole in the fence. We were escorted out the main gate with all the children pied pipering behind us. My Dad turned white when we got home and told him what happened. He, having escaped from Russia as a baby, said, “You could have never been seen again!!”

Okay, another was going swimming in Half Moon Bay by myself in the winter one night having consumed enough alcohol in my own rarified opinion to keep me warm while in the water. This was a place I’d never even been to in daylight.

Well, the first thing that came to mind was the scenarios a friend and I would create on the subway in New York when we were in college. One of us would be The Biter and the other would be the would be Victim. We’d trade off doing our little vampire act for the horror and amusement of the other subway riders.

I don’t think that last sentence was actually a sentence, but, y’all being bright people, I’m hoping you’ll figure out what I meant.

All of this sounds like me.

What an honor this morning! I’ve never before won the coveted Anti-industrial Fluffball title.

Borrowing from the kids my teacher friend did on Thesaurus work with her kids, I’ve been entertaining myself thinking of myself (and others) as “spectacularly demented”.

I don’t consider the season really over til after my birthday, January 9th. This year, I’m hosting a gathering of neighborhood women for lunch.

I don’t want my planet ruined by Fukushima. Am I a cry baby?

Top of the season to you and all the pups yet to arrive. Even though you bring us the dismal news from Fukushima and SONGS.

Thank you for the bright spot (pun intended) from First Solar.

It’s non-stop holiday gatherings here in River City. A couple of us took our Chanukah menorahs to watch election results last Tuesday in our city council run-offs. Then I went to friends for another Chanukah gathering a couple days later. Yesterday morning was my quarterly swim and breakfast with a group of women with whom I celebrate the solstices and equinoxes. Only one of us went swimming this time. The rest just breakfasted. Today is another holiday gathering and tomorrow is another one and Wednesday is another one. Is it a contest to see who can add the most weight to my expanding body this season?

Thanks. I’m watching it now. Will take a break and watch the rest later.

From googling, I found geoengineeringwatch.org and watch a presentation by Dane Witington earlier.

Hoping to shift my depressed mood by going to yoga. I didn’t shower yesterday, so, in consideration of the others in class, I’m off to the shower now.
