As someone who has actually slept in/occupied the Capitol, repeatedly I might add, and been participating in these protests for weeks, I have to say it is light-years beyond crass to fundraise off of us while simultaneously talking about how we haven’t been able to ‘complete’ our goal. The fight against the Walker anti-union bill still goes on, in person and in court, and is far, far from over for one thing.
If you actually want to help contribute to the ‘Spirit of Madison’, donate to Ian’s Pizza on State, not to FDL. Or pack a bag and come help us occupy the Capitol the next time they try to shut it down. Buying a branded tote-bag doesn’t cut it.
