Romney lost because he did not appeal to the millions of Americans who have seen their standard of living decline over the past decades.
That jumped out at me as well. What an astonishing, even for the Modern Republican, lack of self-awareness. Mind you, he’s certainly on to something. I don’t know if he would have won had he been ever so slightly less of an overly-entitled shitweasel, but yeah, his shitweaselry was a huge part of his failure.
The American middle class has begun to notice just where all its money has gone and why, and who has enabled the wealthy to wring them out like a wet dishrag. It’s not so much a matter of appeal as it is a matter of policies that have been very, very one-sided and more people realizing that they are not on the side that benefits.
Yes, Byron. Millions of Americans, hundreds of millions, actually, have seen their fortunes decline since the coming of St. Ronnie. You, Sir, and yours, are the reason why. Keep wondering why they don’t like you.
