We actually live in a time where it is better in the long run for the country and definitely better for Progressive causes to have the Democratic nominee for President lose to any of the Tea Party winguts.
No Democrat, big or small, historic or not, can receive the votes of the Progressive left after putting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid on the block on purpose, thus squeezing the toothpaste out of the tube. If we do not exact penalty from the Left for this, we will never ever be taken seriously, and we will deserve what we get.
To all those who say that the alternative – be it Bachman, Perry, Romney – is worse, I say “No.” We can see them coming. We know how to mobilize on defense, and this time, unlike with Skippy Bush, we will be ready.
But Obama…well, fool me once, shame on you, fool me on everything I hold dear…
If not us, who? If not now…well there is no when.
