Back in 2008 it was obvious what O was up to. Would say anything to please listeners.
We are in denial to think that we have two parties. One monster with two heads. Go independent.
Nice post by Steven. -
jameshester12 commented on the diary post 30 Toxic Chemicals at High Levels at Mayflower Exxon Tar Sands Spill by Steve Horn.
It would be really important to get a sample of the liquid by an independent lab (not Exxon or EPA or State Agencies). We know all ringed Hydrocarbons are dangerous. Metal contents in the spilled liquid would be the real story.

jameshester12 commented on the diary post Saturday Art: The Pieta by Ruth Calvo.
I think when we use the tragedy of Newtown to describe mindless killing and sorrow of the parents, we are ignoring the grief of mothers in Pakistan, Afghanistan…whose children perished, before their adulthood, from missile attacks for no reasons other than being different (as Noam Chomsky reminds us very pointedly “we” and “them”).

Is he a closet gay or has he admitted his sexual preference in public. A while back this was a big issue in SC.

jameshester12 commented on the blog post “…but not for me”
The Democrats are not far behind. Remember the case of Chuck Schumer, the powerful Democrat from NY who refused to turn off his cell phone in a flight from DC to NY and “politely” called the requesting female flight attendant B…ch. Our elected representatives, in their own mind, are blessed with “such” perks.

jameshester12 commented on the blog post Washington Post Spikes Story About Poor Media Coverage During Run Up To Iraq War
A good analogy could be that a mad man is going to set fire. Somehow, media has the knowledge of his intentions and keeps it to itself. After the event/damage, now the “real reporting” begins. Finding the causes, bisecting and dissecting events, bringing experts for more misleading information. And of course admitting Oh well” we should have done a better job”. It is not failure to report accurate information it is collaboration they should be admitting (NYT, WPost, MSM and….)

jameshester12 commented on the blog post Washington Post Spikes Story About Poor Media Coverage During Run Up To Iraq War
The “media” did not fail in reporting. It was very successful in changing/formulating public opinion leading to war/s. It was a collaborator to the neo-cons dreams.

jameshester12 commented on the diary post The Iraq Anniversary and the Washington Post by E. F. Beall.
Agreed. I remembered reading somewhere. Most of the information generated by some at the CIA was under the supervision of DICK. His frequent visits to Langley were unprecedented. A lot of professionals at Langley were not too happy by vice president’s frequent visits. Britain and Italy were very helpful in production of all kind of [...]

jameshester12 commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Doug Saunders, The Myth of the Muslim Tide
Why the European and specially the French dwell on “Burqa” or “Hijab” and politicize when there is no requirement in Islam for a woman to cover her face. I think it is the head/hair she is required go cover. Why the govt. is unable to hire some real scholars to educate the courts/public and put this topic to rest instead of exploiting it. Any observation?

jameshester12 commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Doug Saunders, The Myth of the Muslim Tide
Thank you for an excellent point. In many Islamic countries the myth about Saudis as “keeper of Guardian of Islam” is spread and is deep rooted. Whatever Saudis do got to be right etc. On the other hand within same countries the resentment for Saudis behavior is extremely high. The biggest complaint is that Saudis preach and practice in opposite direction, drugs, slavery, women’s right, bribes, human rights violations towards other Muslims in Saudi Arabia itself (Wikileaks cable made peoples belief more concrete)

jameshester12 commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Doug Saunders, The Myth of the Muslim Tide
Have you read the book “Two Faces of Islam” where the author rightfully points to the real extremism in Islam by the Saudis (the moderate Arabs). How the Saudis have funded radicals in countries like Pakistan, India, and many others.

jameshester12 commented on the blog post Atlas Cashed In
Hypocracy, that is called. My mother-in-law, a devout rightwing in Carolinas recently passed away of liver cancer. All of her relatives including her son (a successful business man) are against spending on social programs. But she got all kind of help from medicare and medicaid for expensive hospitalization. Nothing wrong with that as far they were concerned. It reminds me of “not in my backyard syndrome”. You can build polluting factories in the low income area but not in our neighborhood. That is something I love to question/mention to social spending cuts promoters and enjoy their facial expressions and answers.

jameshester12 commented on the diary post The Hypocrisy of “Clean Coal” by Heather Taylor-Miesle NRDC Action Fund.
There is no such thing as “clean coal”. Lot of emphasis, though rightfully, is given on CO2 or CO generation with coal burning but that is not enough. It does not grab attention. The focus should be the presence of harmful metals like Mercury, Arsenic, Cadmium, sulfur,,, with varying concentration with specific regions. The impact [...]
