I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Obama’s dream of gutting Social Security is pushed way to the back burner, similar to Clinton’s attempt to privatise it, but then, the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke.

The push to cut Social Security under Obama is never permanently defeated just temporarily set back, but this could be a big setback.

His political instincts are still s***. He wants to cut Social Security (seems the only thing that really wants to do with his presidency), but the way he goes about it politically is a disaster, and the actual policy of cutting Social Security is a disaster as well. This sequester was done to “force” the GOP back to the table to get a grand clusterfuck bargain, and it didn’t work in the least.

He essentially wants the GOP to give him bipartisan cover when he does it so he can say “the GOP made me do it”. And that isn’t working in the least.

The original idea behind the sequester was to make the cuts so stupid, needlessly painful, and poorly designed that everyone would eventually clamor for a grand bargain deficit reduction plan to replace it.

The sequester has turned out to be a massive political miscalculation.

This is the only thing that he wants to do with his presidency. He doesn’t care about anything else. He seems to think cutting Social Security is the magical elixir that will cure all ills. Seriously, he really believes that.

Vetoing means confrontation, something Obama hates, at least when it’s against Republicans.

Confronting liberals, he loves that.

If CISPA passes the Senate it will likely become law.

It’s pretty sad when a sitting president says he’ll veto something, and no one believes him (including me).

Reagan is Obama’s idol, not Lincoln, like some in the MSM have suggested.

Obama has even taken after Reagan on cosmetic grounds. I’m pretty damn sure he’s done Botox (I noticed that his eyebrows didn’t move at all in his recent gun control speech, a sure sign of Botox), and I’ve noticed Obama’s hair fluctuates between gray and brown, so he must be dyeing it.
