Please don’t forget the very high cost of large laboratory instrumentation. I know for a fact that high-tech machines are WAY overpriced when sold to US hospitals.Same machine sold overseas, much less expensive. We seem to be the suckers of the world.

Dear David,
I’m so sorry you’re leaving FDL. I will miss you here. When I joined FDL you called me at home and I was honored. Now for my comment:
My husband passed away recently. My name was not on the mtg loan (our infant son was in the hospital in NYC when closing happened, so I was unable to be there.) Its been thru Probate and I now have the Deed. Went to Chase to change the name on the loan. Chase wants $5000 just for the assumption. What bastards! $5000 to change his first name to mine. told my tale of woe to the “nice man at Wells Fargo” who said he didn’t need that for a refi as I had the deed. What, if anything, should I be looking for in the small print with WF? I feel vulnerable because they are all crooks and I don’t trust them.

It’s amazing how long this has been going on, with no legal recourse until now. Wasn’t Ted Kennedy on the no fly list for a while? I’ll bet the phyco’s in Bushco had a real laugh over that. It showed what a sham in really was, and ripe for abuse. Glad to see some changes might come.

At Jones Beach, on the Isle of Long, there were signs up on the roads saying “Courtesy is Contagious” and that is true. One person holds the door open for the next, and that person does the same for the next, and before you know it, you’ve started a movement!
