    Did I mention that my stepson will be in college during my SO’s final year?

    Right now I am reminding him that his senior year is at hand if he decides to study.:)

    Cedar Falls Iowa.Small city next to Waterloo(think John Deere)

    It started as Cedar Falls Teachers College when my grandmother graduated as a school teacher in 1910. Excellent State school with enrollment of about 12000.

    Her heart is in Environmental Conservation but has settled on Psch/Soc. and will probably go on and get a MA from UNI as well.

    On a personal note my SO received a Carver Foundation(as in the Hawkeye Football Stadium) Award that will mean she can attend the University of Northern Iowa FOR FREE!We just saved $30,000.

    Excuse my manners. Good morning demi, SD, and all the diner visitors.

    I have been subbing alot lately and always am driving when most of the regulars are here.

    School’s out next week so I become Family Camping Dad as much as possible.
    Going trout fishing near Decorah as well as camping over the holiday.

    My SO was just accepted at Luther for her final two years. They gave her a great aid package but commuter tuition is 36k. It was 3k when I graduated.

    FDL came of age during Libbygate and the Ned Lamont challenge to Guerney Joe Lieberman who was Obama’s neoliberal mentor.

    Good morning all.

    My flowering crabapples were in full bloom recently. My kids and I sat outside on our deck just watching them do the “busy” work.

    There must have been hundreds cuz we could hear their humming.
