I don’t have a lot of knowledge of the Secret Service, just what I observed from my brother’s graduation into the service. I went to his graduation ceremony and watched the newest class of recruits receive their honors and guns (used ones, he was pissed! HA!). I don’t defend any of what they did (he [...]

Republicans serve as condom placers to the orgy that is big business. Democrats are the tollbooth operators to get to that orgy.

“Our efforts are wasted trying to prop up a deeply corrupt central government that lacks popular respect.” – Sounds familiar.

So, what does it mean when the wishes of the majority of the population in a democracy are simply ignored…time, and time, and time again?

Geeze, whats that word..it starts with a letter..but I can’t remember which one it is. Must be the fluoride. Silly me.

I wasn’t alive during Vietnam but the two (Vietnam & Afg.) appear to be quite similar on the surface (drug running, strategic positioning, MIC, etc…)

I don’t see the crusade war ending anytime soon. I’m not even sure a new Daniel Ellsburg could help end it, though I guess Assange is a fair parallel. IMHO the Wikileaks documents alone warrant a far greater upheaval than just exiting Afghanistan.

Wait, where did I put my car keys? Well, shucks.

I also fear we’re “past the point of no return.” The food we eat isn’t food, the water we drink is poisoned, and our air is, well, I don’t even know. Lately I haven’t been viewing (speaking for myself) life as life at all. We’re the nameless characters in a video game; the extras in [...]

I have a few honest questions on student loans and banking in general as it seems I may have missed a few econ 101 classes. If my questions are due to my ignorance or simple lack of knowledge, please let me know. If not, any answers would be helpful. I’ve been paying my student loans [...]

” Words form the thread on which we string our experiences. Without them we should live spasmodically and intermittently. • I think I remember hearing on the radio that somewhere around 200,000 jobs need to be added per month to account for population increase -just to keep even. Anybody know how close to being accurate that is? Or are those figures added in already? (Not sorry for any pessimism)

“The UN has accused the Syrian regime of ‘crimes against humanity‘…and has drawn up a list of senior officials who should face investigation, reportedly including President Bashar al-Assad”.

We should really be more supportive of the pres…that’s the second ‘hit’ list he’s come up with (that we know about). That’s two more than I have (but I’m a lazy young person).

On a more sickening related note…’“The UN has accused the Syrian regime of ‘crimes against humanity‘ – including the use of snipers against small children’…. I beat myself over the brain when these people accuse others of killing children. The sad part is Obama is a smart man, he just doesn’t care…

Jenga. Nice post. I spend a lot of time in rural public schools and have graded tens of thousands of these standardized tests. You hit the nail on the head, it’s about culture/society. Our value system is upside down and it shows in our education. We worship these faces on the television and ‘wish’ we could [...]

  • Shouldn’t free market ideologues embrace the business practice of drug dealing?  An illustration…   A poor, young man who was raised in poverty and had a rough upbringing with little education, stands over the grill flipping burgers at a local McDonald’s for $7.50 an hour, with no real future on the horizon. After daydreaming at his [...]

I was curious to see if anyone had a similar experience… While having a heated talk about racism a short while ago and reading Paul Rosenberg’s article about racism, it finally occurred to me that I was raised to be racist while being told I wasn’t a racist. I’ve grown past this since I left high school, but [...]

After reading about t he pentagon outsourcing “The War on Drugs” to Blackwater/Academi/Xe I have serious concerns.  I suppose the US army has always relied on mercenaries in one form or another, whether it be a tool for societal gains, an attempt to escape poverty, or “contractors.”  I guess it just goes  to show how much [...]
