Even if everyone was in the same pool it wouldn’t matter given the current system. We would still have inelastic demand, monopoly driven private health insurance mega-corporations that are government subsidized, and not subject to anti-trust laws. The perfect storm for the consumer getting hosed. Our government calls this a free-market system? Sorry, there’s no hope.

When Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton are elected President in 2016 it will all be gutted anyway. That’s if it’s ever actually fully enacted. Meanwhile Obama can posture like he actually stands for something.

He also would have been an advocate for single payer healthcare. Instead he censored any discussion and cut backroom deals with Pharma and Insurance industries while accepting $20 million in campaign donations from the healthcare industry in support of his 2008 campaign. There is no way he could have arrived at where he is now from his 2007-2008 sensible left leaning rhetoric without being a complete fraud.

By the time Obama leaves office wealth and income disparity will have reached unthinkable heights, and the middle class will be completely f*#ked. I don’t see how Americans are going buy into the Uni-Party bullsh*t again in 2016.

I wouldn’t expect anything more from corrupt assbags completely beholden to corporate interests.

The idea of having a choice on the new exchanges is a moot point. The exchanges will all be dominated by the same monopoly insurance companies who collude and all will be charging the same exorbitant price for the same pitiful health insurance.

But here’s the strange thing: unlike the Pentagon, this monstrosity draws no attention whatsoever — even though, by our calculations, this country has spent a jaw-dropping $791 billion on “homeland security” since 9/11

I don’t think that includes the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan which Joseph Stiglitz estimates to be $3 trillion and counting. And does not include opportunity costs.

We pay 75% of their all ready discounted gold plated healthcare plans. I would bet my first born child that they give themselves an exemption.

If one looks at the distribution of wealth over the last 30 years, and what happened after the banks blew up the world economy it’s obvious who’s interests they are serving. This did not happen by accident but is a direct result of government policy.

Whenever politicians of any party speak to the public, they tell us their sole purpose in life is their deep desire to serve their fellow members of the middle class.

Surely, we all know this is complete bullsh*t. It’s obvious their sole purpose is to serve the interests of the corporate elite and other wealthy individuals who finance their multi-million dollar political campaigns.

News Flash! Duh? The corporate lobbies control or actually write every piece of important legislation that goes down in America.

Obama is the ultimate con. That’s why he is completely maddening. At least we knew what we were getting with Nixon, Reagan, and Bush.

It’s the same old problem. There is no viable choice when you have only one Party with two branches. That way the system is fixed to work for the oligarchs and always work against the people.

Summers also thought it was a great idea to repeal the Glass-Steagall Act, and to allow derivatives to be traded without oversight or regulation. He should shut the f*@k up about public policy and go crawl back into his hole with Alan Greenspan.
