The problem with your interpretation of this poll, is that when they break down the responses by party, only 9% of Republicans think that Obama is bringing about the changes that are needed, while 53% of Democrats think that he is. I am guessing this means that different people have different definitions of what kind of change is needed. The 70% of people who think we need more change could therefore include people who think we need to do more to reduce government spending, as well as people who think we need to do more to socialize the economy. My guess is that the 70% of dissatisfied people are probably pulling in quite a few very different directions.
