The school colors of the UA are red and blue, and it’s a fervently held tradition for fans to show up to a Wildcats basketball game wearing red shirts; it’s literally a sea of red in the stands; I’ve been there.
To show up dressed as the ‘Zona Zoo would have been in VERY poor taste; and it’s entirely likely that blue was the only color on hand in sufficient stock to print up that many, that quickly.
