LOL
I brought facts, but they are not welcome!
The military is not a socially just organization right now. The wars are illegal. The killing of children cannot create social justice here.
DADT repeal doesn’t accomplish anything meaninful anyhow.
Enjoy your bone – but please think of the blood and bones of the collateral damage.

No – call it saving a few keystrokes and then I refuse to go back and edit because you are so insulting about it, totally misrepresenting what it means in an attempt to distract from a legitimate issue.

not your monkey – the point is not important unless you do research.
Visit your local library – they need your support.
Visit them now before they are all gone – these unfunded wars are going to undermine funding for virtually everything else eventually.

I use the nicknames of my choice – too funny you want to make it about the one time I keyed marg instead of margaret.
Yes, I could go back and edit, but I won’t because many that read these threads will easily see the strawman attack.

ran from no one – killing women and children as “collateral damage” is not going to promote equity for gays or anyone else.

Haven’t insulted anyone – I will take on all that insult me (until I get bored).
How come no one wants to talk about the outcomes for many that serve in these illegal wars?
death?
maiming?
trama beyond most people’s imagination?
When george bush said war was peace, people here stood up.
Now obama and some here want to proclaim social justice by enabling more to serve in illegal wars that have killed more than 1 million people in Iraq – innocent people, civilians – many more than 1 million.
Social Justice = Genocide and mass destruction?

There is new thing on the tubes – google.
You can type in what you want and find it really fast.
Libraries have textbooks on these too. I have more than a masters degree in it, but am not your monkey.
If you really wanted to know – the basics of conducting and analyzing surveys is not to hard to find.
Please check it out!

I will abbreviate when I want and it means nothing – nice try teddy.
I will accept wearing out my welcome before I allow people to mindlessly celebrate anything with the military-industrial-complex as progressive.
Can’t remember the last time I saw a thread on ending endless unfunded wars.
I know many want to see it.
But threads on repealing DADT as “progressive” justice? To sick to let go without comment.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
LOL
Proof that most people cannot actually articulate the reasons for there behavior. Anyone involved with surveys knows that self-reported behaviors/motiviations are essentially worthless.
I have read your comments for years and know at other times the issues I bring up would resonate.
This threat is precisely about the military-industrial-media complex and who can join the fun of killing.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
It is too about wars – you just refuse to accept simple facts.
When you join the military today, it is about wars.
These issues are joined at the hip – we are not going to create social justice with murder.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
Too funny – a relic of prejudice has been struck down because some hope to eventually create an path for open gays to kill people of color in other parts of the world with endless wars against indeterminate enemies, all enriching the military-industrial complex.
Social justice is what social justice does – you are advocating for people’s right to kill others – mostly women and children (via “collateral damage”).
And this is “progressive” and “liberal”?
The US military is currently a global tragedy – this is too sick.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
marg – like I said. I have read these threads for years. Usually respect your comments.
Don’t today, but you have a military background, don’t you.
So I understand why you feel threatened.
There is no justice in the way the military is being used. This will not create equity at home – not in the near future or ever.
I was finally so sick of the glee this repeal is generating (so war is now progressive), I finally signed up for an account.
How do we create social justice at home by enabling more to wreak havoc, destruction, and death on the rest of the world?
This is not analogous to integration and WW II. And even then, that link is tenuous at best.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
If creating social justice means actual social justice – it would be a more reasonable tact, wouldn’t it.
How do we say, “YEAH” here while so many innocents (many children) are being killed in your name.
This is so sickening.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
If you think it will, you are not paying attention to the threads or the facts.
Creating social justice at home is not dependent on enabling gross injustice overseas.
So sad that people want to make it out this way – clever of obama, wasn’t it.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
I will never accept that the murder of 100,000s of thousand innocent people of color is somehow going to be a vehicle for civil rights of any kinds.
This is so different than WW II and integration.
I do not know why anyone wants to make it easier for anyone to fight wars.
I don’t know why anyone wants to make this about “social justice”.
It is so sad that there is so little talk about ending the wars and so much talk about getting more people into the fray.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
Not at all – never said that. Please leave the straw man stuff out of this.
The current military is an inherently unjust organization and will never be a vehicle for social justice.
I feel sad if a path for open gays opens up and large numbers of them celebrate by joining the illegal wars and the murder of hundreds of thousands.
This changes nothing, open enlistment for gays will never be like integration of WW II, and the military-industrial complex, joe LIEberman, and obama are laughing that they have “energized” a base with a meaningless bone.
All while slapping progressives/liberals in the face on each and every other issue.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
I didn’t call anyone names – the behavior that somehow being able to kill people of color in endless unfunded wars that violate international laws is sick.
Teddy, please don’t dump misinformation in the thread – I imagine you didn’t intend to, but there was no name calling.
I am saying it is sick to proclaim the military is a path to greater social justice given the way it is currently used.
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
The ultimate bigotry is MURDER and it is being done in your name by the hundreds of thousands.
It is destroying families for many generations to come.
Do you really want to make ones right to join an inherently racist war machine all about “civil rights”?
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
Its not anyones decision to join I question – the folks that regularly create these threads say this means nothing.
It is a bone.
The analogies to integration and WW II are false (or lies)
If I choose to join an unjust killing machine that largely murders civilians (collateral damage) with high-tech, internationally banned weapons (can you say DEPLETED URANIUM), I really have given up my right to expect anything that is “fair” or “just”.
So please explain to me – where is the justice in empowering openly gay people to murder folks of color around the world in our names.
And why is this “progressive”?
-
jo commented on the blog post DADT Repeal Passage Owed to Incredible Grassroots Activism
Talking about the deaths of more than one million Iraq civilians is “meaningless” to you?
Its “trolling”
sick, sick, sick
One of the authors here today said he agreed with everything I posted in his threads.
Typical American attitude, what I would expect from repug or teabagger, not from a self-proclaimed “liberal” or “progressive” at FDL.
I also know you have made essentially this exact same comment and expect progressives to have a more rational attitude.
Let me get this straight – the lives of other people of color are meaningless if they live in Iraq or Afghanistan. All that matters is that DADT gets repealed.
just amazing, margaret – you are usually a voice of reason. I am sad that you think the deaths of so many means nothing and repeal of DADT means everything.
