Ah, I see. Wasn’t aware of the intra-FDL dynamics in play. Your overall angle makes sense too. Carry on!

C’mon now, I agree that the criticism is overwought and a tad precious but, since it’s here at FDL, if you have an issue go the source. Dragging it over here to take shots at it, while funny and on point as usual, is kinda weak…ducking…..

Huh? It looks like most of the people here are chilling out. Now, the hysterics over at dkos are another story….

You have a case? Just a second ago, you were abusing the concept of Karma and engaging in an exaggerated whine about something that didn’t happen.

Oh look who’s come out to talk trash. Too funny.

You still havn’t discussed how to make that transition happen.
That’s not a surprise, right? Remember its all about personal branding and slogans. Simply holding a position like “Use Value” is the thing itself. You get to be enlightened and against the status quo without actually doing anything, in this case, to make “Use Value” happen.

Typos? Seriously? Anyway, yes it’s all about you. We know that already. Carry on….

Now, now don’t be too hard on him. You know we live we live in the, for lack of a better term, “The Age of Apple”, so all that really matters is branding and slogans.
Note – Just using Apple as a metaphor. I have no interest in the “Mine is better than yours!” computers, smartphones, tablets, etc. debate.

Didn’t know about this limousine liberal trope but seems apt. Apparently it gets under your skin? YES–emphatically–in a country where the gap between rich and poor is greater than even West Africa, fer shure, rich people tend to be my enemy. Again, we have different political outlooks; pretending it’s about me wanting a pony when 99% of those of us who are left out NEED TO EAT just misses the point.
Oh stop it. You know what a limousine liberal troupe is and you’re using another version of it above. No, it doesn’t get under my skin. Despite assigning me one, you don’t know what my political outlook is. You are eating just fine but your dramatic posing on behalf of the rest of the left out 99%? is noted.

“You think the system is okay; I want to replace it. You think Obama does ugly stuff because, because, because. . . right wingers make him do it! I say f*ck the political game and speak against the ugly stuff. We have both chosen our poisons. Yours likely allows you to retain your upper middle class comfort, of which the diaries tend to reek.”
That was a great paragraph. Assign “poisons” to, I guess TBogg?, that he didn’t state while patting yourself on the back for your integrity AND toss in a variation of the stale limousine liberal insult. well done.

C’mon now we all know who the REAL terrorists are, right?
Anybody remember that guy who tied up his wife and daughter, set the house on fire (thankfully they escaped), flew his plane into an IRS office killing a worker and himself and left behind a long winded politically tinged “manifesto” explaining why he did what he did? Remember all the ridiculous hemming and hawing about whether to call that guy a terrorist or describe his act as a terrorist act? I mean really what more do you have to do, other than I suppose be Muslim and/or “swarthy”, to be called a terrorist these days?
So I’m not surprised that the usual suspects are doing the usual crazy things.

I don’t think Columbine has anything to do with this. Completely different situation. Two kids bullied into insanity, targeting the jocks and other kids that picked on them.
I agree with the first part of your statement but the part I bolded is incorrect. Check Dave Cullen’s book “Columbine” where he found that contrary to popular thinking, the killers weren’t part of the Trench Coat Mafia, weren’t bullied by other students and that they didn’t target popular jocks, African-Americans or any other group.

If he was a “product of the time,” he was the product of a privileged class and expansionist politics that he was willing to defend with military force.
Indeed. When I hear the “product of the time” line I know I’m about to get a whole lot of rationalizations next. What “product of the time” really means is part of the dominant social class or structure and is usually used to downplay the flaws of um, I mean “contextualize”, the “Great Men of History”.
Note as you point that there were plenty of people who resisted or opposed the products of their times in real time which, in this case, sort of puts the lie to the notion that modern standards are being placed on historical figures.
To the subject at hand, give Churchill his due but give him ALL of his due.

They certainly are nuts and I can only imagine that the delusional self importance and paranoia is only going to get worse once SZ’z deadend perjury case comes up next week. Also, if O’Mara has any wits left, he better be planning an exit.

Remarkable. As greenwarrior said, their chutzpah is amazing. So now we have O’Mara’s “official” website, GZ’s website and now GZ’s mother father and sister’s website all asking for donations?! Shaking my head….

Great posts one and all. The interview was a disaster and they followed it up with more craziness (the B. Walters stuff) and I think SH is going to broadcast more of it tomorrow. The prosecution has to be loving this situation. Imagine what’s on the unedited stuff. I can’t imagine anybody outside of the [...]
