Definitely smoke some weed – in Israel, cannabis is used for pain, nausea, appetite, and morale. Concentrates, called Rick Simpson’s Oil, has been effective as a cure.

And this is funnier than hell – two dogs eating in a diner. You should see when the waitress takes away their plates at the end.

Those of us committed to an ethic of nonviolence are working quite diligently to create a powered-down community. Google Transition Town, and Transition Town (your state) to find if your town is already trying to establish a sustainable lifestyle, revive the practice of old time skills, food gardening and preserving. I think traveling is wonderful – before marrying, I hitchhiked through Mexico, Central and South America. It seriously broadens one’s perspective, besides discovering so many of your relatives (in the family of man).

Kathryn in MA commented on the blog post The Moment for Gun Control Reform is Slipping Away

    2013-03-27 14:11:59View | Delete

Here’s my idea for gun reform – consider it a force multiplier like a car. A car, if improperly controlled, can hurt or kill someone. So, we deal with that by insisting a person be a minimum age before allowing that person to operate a car. Then the person takes lessons in the operation of the car – both book learning and behind-the-wheel experience with an experienced adult. Then the person takes a test that he has to pass in order to get a license to operate.
Let’s have such a program, plus background checks, before one is allowed to own a gun.

There is another way, another tactic to bring down the corporatocracy. And that is to build a society in which we do not buy anything from a corporation or put one cent into a bank. Without our dollars, they die. We get very local. We move our money to local credit unions, we study permaculture, [...]

When i got so upset from reading the about the upcoming catastrophe, I’d go over to the green sites, where they’re trying to stay calm and get an alternative lifestyle going in time; http://www.yesmagazine.org/issues/what-would-nature-do/inside-the-down-to-earth-economy.
