Just so that you know, I am the male of this marriage and I am a staunch supporter of feminism. That was a shock to my wife-to-be over 40 years ago.

On the 11th of this month we celebrated our 40th anniversary. I think I love her more now than I did when we got married. Our “shut up and listen” rule worked. When one of us had a beef, the other had to shut up and listen. When the beef was done it flipped and the other had to shut up and listen to the reply.
Before we even got an argument settled, we were both apologizing to each other.
It works. Try it. -

As a Canadian, I don’t want your country. You have too many extreme radicals.

No, they want to stretch out the suffering using their drugs.

So what the federal government is saying, it’s against the law to get better from your illness. That makes a lot of sense, I guess.

kimmie commented on the blog post Late Late Night FDL: I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know
There are all these love songs telling us about love.
There are all these statistics telling about divorces.
What is the truth?
This Saturday I will be married to the most beautiful woman for 40 years.
Penny, I love you.
How many people can say that?
We are both getting old, but she still looks as lovely as when we met. How many men can (will) say that?
Love; It only means something if you feel it. And we are living it. -

I am a Canadian. Yes, I am a male married to a woman. We have a Gay friend who is married and he is like a son to us. Yes, he is married to another man. What has that got to do with it? They are in love. I know what love is. On the 11th of this month we will be married 40 years. I still love my wife.
Kimmy is what my wife has called me for over 40 years. Name is Kim.
We have many friends and we never use any titles to designate them. They are our friends.
Judge people for who they are and not what they are.
And I thought God was all forgiving. -

Did you know that actually helping people on drugs is cheaper than putting them in jail.

I don’t need a hug. I get one from my wife every day. She is more beautiful to me now than she ever was. Amazing how love makes you blind.

I almost lost my wife just over 4 years ago. I do not to have to change diapers, but I had to prepare meals and instructions on how to microwave. Her short term memory is lost. She tells everyone she is getting better. Physically, yes. Mentally, no. But I still love her.
This May 11th it will be 40 years of true love. -
kimmie commented on the diary post NYT Uses News Story to Express Dislike of Danish Welfare State by Dean Baker.
I was born in Denmark and have many relatives there. Now living in Canada. They all wonder why I can’t afford much with how much I earn when they can buy much more with how little they earn. There is much more to this than what is reported. Like capitalism robbing us blind.

I didn’t want to bring that racism into it. But since you did; Yes, they are racist and needed to be stopped. The only people I look down on are the ones that use their religious beliefs to further their agenda. It has nothing to do with God, it has everything to do with their [...]

So they pass these anti-choice abortion laws and they set a lot of money aside to defend them. Doesn’t anyone see the hypocrisy here? They know that these laws are unconstitutional, but they will spend money to defend them. Smaller government by the GOP my a$$. All we hear about in the Middle East is [...]

You actually get used to it. We are planning on moving back to Ontario. My winter coat would be appreciated there. -10C is cold there. Normal here.
