Russia & China haven’t been factored into this equation, at least not in the Western punditocracy/expertocracy. When even the “Good Cop”, Medvedev, as opposed to the “Bad Cop” Putin, cautions about the game going nuclear, there is a huge problem. With the Pentagon overflowing with hubris/triumphalism in building a noose around Russia and China via the now global Anti-Missile Shield, they are blinded to the severe danger. An attack on Iran from whatever quarter, directly or thru a third party like NATO “humanitarian bombing” and invasion, via “NATO rebels”, of Syria would be just the fuse to set off a catastrophic spiral.

“Arrested and held without charge”; sounds like they are taking their que from current police practices against Palestinians, rights activists and not, in Israel?

Hey, we got another “intervention” officially going full bore, thru mission creep, in Yemen! Yippee, don’ worry, be happy, rejoice for the sheer “glory” of another ME war!

kipchuk commented on the blog post Looming Interest Rate Increase for Federal College Loans Would Cost Students Thousands
There is not a snowball’s chance that Congress will enact legislation to stop this travesty, pre-2012 election. As cited, the Ryan budget would pile on to the burden on middle class and poorer students and their families.

Like Obama hopes most voters don’t notice that he changed virtually all of his positions from pre- to post-election?

It’s just consummately deceitful Obama preparing to throw some of his supporters under the bus once again for the umpteenth time, in this case environmentalists. Sadly most of them will just rationalize and vote for him anyway. I surely won’t. Just tag me a “dissident” or “refusenik”

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) is a “Democrat?” Must be some type of Blue-Dog “Democrat.” They sure turn out some strange “Democrats” in Oregon. Paul-Wyden is an attempt to deconstruct the final pillar of the New Deal social reform programs.

With this crapping on the bond holders, from several directions, who will they get to finance “sovereign debt” in the future from the deadbeats-in-waiting (Spain, Portugal, Italy, and others from the Euro poodles kennel?

The same thing that will lead US into war on Syria-Iran (with a snappy pivot into WW III?).

Have you been so anti-social all your life, or is it an acquired disability?

kipchuk commented on the blog post Murkowski Has Remorse Over Blunt Amendment
She must have thought she could reprise the role of “good ol’ girl” after folding herself back into the Rebagger caucus. Now, nobody wants her.How could she be so dense?

This just in: the main pipeline delivering oil to Saudi’s Persian Gulf shipping terminal complex has suffered a huge explosion, cause uncertain at this point. Apparently this pipeline is the major link in shipping Saudi oil to both Asian and Western markets. It’s likely there will be a sharp spike in prices, worse than we have been experiencing recently, in the coming days. A small dress rehearsal of what the world will be experiencing in the coming West-on-East Armageddon simulation?

Just more stealing from the Social Security Trust Fund. At 75, hope I miss the worst of the hacking and slashing of monthly benefit payments that is sure to come.

kipchuk commented on the blog post CNBC’s Diana Olick’s Wrongheaded Analysis of the Foreclosure Fraud Settlement
Well, look on the “bright” side: losing your house thru a criminal conspiracy of fraud is not as bad as losing your life thru an Executive Order from the President “authorizing” your murder without any due process whatsoever in the courts, even though you are a natural-born United States citizen, rights previously guaranteed by the US Constitution. It even pales in comparison to US Citizens being incarcerated INDEFINITELY by the US Military also without any such due process, courtesy of the NDAA-2011. Both extra-legal “precedents” were established under Obama within the last 6 months of 2011. Quite an astounding “accomplishment.” The ripped-offees should be thankful for small favors. I submit that the core of the US Constition lies in shreds.

Obama has plumbed new depths of the sewer of political corruption with his action supporting the illegal dispossessing homeowners of their property. He is beyond the pale.

The next Big War, WW III, is on tap. We are now in 2012, within which the human-defined time supposedly goes blank (ends). Resort to nuclear weapons will be a last resort; to be employed only when the ratcheting-up of attack-counter attack becomes unbearable by one side or the other.
