My “it’s gottah be you,” is that there must have been an FDL update that my computer does not like. I cannot get the edit to function here. It takes five to six times to have success with the edit. And I cannot refresh. It must be a recent update because I was here two days ago and had no problems.

I have no idea what update may be causing probs. on my end. I just know that I am going to other blogs and having no problems posting or refreshing.

I understand “local,” however, any other site I go to is fine.

As for the link. It showed up in my preview window.

If someone pulled a gun on me at point blank range, I would wrestle him down to try and disarm him; especially, if I thought my life was in danger.

This is a whole new story.

My daughter just finished a study on the founding of the states along the Mexican border. She was especially taken by TX.

She pointed out how founders lied to take the land from Mexico and that if there is anywhere in the nation where border issues should not be an issue, it is along the Mexican border. “Open the border,” were her words. “We created the immigration issue with lies.”

“We are the immigrants.” she quipped.

Just watched a piece about Mia Love out of Utah that the Reps are excited about. Found this place and had my eyes opened as I read.

Sounds like tons of fines and creating a police state which is spun to be called “public safety” is a big revenue generator. Gives the honest outcome of “less government” and “personal responsibility.”

    This is police state language.

    The new brain drain…

So very sad…Lots of tax dollars went into trying to make higher end more accessible and now the states are cutting the $$$.

I have a difficult time buying the metrics there. A home, outfitted correctly, is able to be totally offgrid. Some homes are able to reach a level of efficiency that they “sell back” power to the national grid. (And this is with a combination of solar, wind, and a tight envelope building design–windows, insulation and utilization of passive solar plus low energy drawing appliances and mechanicals.)

Off-grid design is also able to be applied to office buildings, if designed and/or retrofitted correctly.

    1% sounds like pure bunk.

I have wondered why there has not been a “pocket effort” where grants cover going into a neighborhood and installing everything that is needed for each home owner to be off-grid. As the neighborhood gives back power to the grid, and lowers their own bills, the home owners would then have the utilities take the difference in their former bills (electric and gas and possibly water if grey water systems are in place) and compare with the new billings with energy efficiency in place and only pay the customer for the difference between their old bills and the power being sold back to them by the neighborhood. The $$ difference could go into a pool that is used to fund the next neighborhood conversion. Energy Efficient Mortgages allow the homeowners to finance their home buying quite differently, based on monthly saving in utilities. This would be a “take” on that concept but using utility savings and profit of the homeowners to pay back on the home upgrades given through the grant in order to keep funding the program.
