Looks like I’m just catching up to the whole third party thing…lol My main concern is not which candidate people vote for, but that they vote for one they actually believe in. Good for you!!

3 Points The electoral college is severely flawed. The founding fathers created the electoral system because the common man could not be trusted to make the “right” choice. As I stated at the end of my second paragraph, that is not the thrust of the post. Mostly because I do not know enough about the [...]

I am not sure if they can. Their last presidential candidate only got .05% of the national vote(2008) BUT, they do have name recognition and donors. That can make a huge difference by itself. What they need are the votes of people who believe in what they stand for. I said this earlier in another [...]

Please see this site for more information on the origins and intent by the founders regarding the electoral college. Here are some snippits, though: “The electoral college was an important part of their attempt to limit the influence of democracy on American government.” “The Constitution was designed so that a group of highly qualified experts would [...]

Not this election, but my point is that you don’t have to vote for the lesser of 2 evils. You can vote for someone you WANT in office. You can even write someone in. The problem is that everyone wants so badly to be on the “winning team” that they are willing to sell their [...]

You may need to update/change your title…these aren’t reasons to vote FOR Obama. This is a reason why NOT to vote for Romney… There are more candidates than just Obama and Romney.

ThumbnailI hear a lot of people talking about the upcoming presidential election.  You know, who they are and are not going to vote for.  From what I hear, a lot of people don’t want to vote for either main candidate, but feel like their vote is wasted if they don’t.  I’m here to tell you that’s [...]

Wow! I didn’t actually expect anyone to read this…once I got it all formatted properly I realized exactly how long it was! I couldn’t delete it because I had done so much to get it formatted right so I posted it anyway. I don’t think the government has any place telling anyone who they can [...]

NOTE: THIS IS PAPER I WROTE FOR MY GOVERNMENT CLASS THIS PAST SEMESTER. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN GRADED. I JUST WANTED TO SHARE. There has been a lot of discussion lately about whether or not to allow gay marriage in the United States. In response to this debate, many states have passed constitutional amendments that [...]

I’m all for allowing people and organizations to live out their own choices and face their own consequences, but it seems to me that this action would hurt a whole lot of innocent bystanders in the process. In my opinion, the justification is not there to do so.

Why should Catholic churches be allowed to not provide necessary medical items to their employees? If it’s because it’s not something they believe in, then where do you draw the line? Christian Scientists don’t believe in medicine of any kind, Jehovahs Witnesses don’t believe in blood transfusions, and Muslims and many Christians don’t believe in [...]

Exactly! I have only recently began attending church again and only because I found one that is accepting and non-judgmental of anyone(at least as far as I have seen). This video was posted by my own mother on her FB. I have such a hard time with the hatred and judgment that she exudes on [...]

This is the most beautifully crafted, disgusting piece of bigotry that I have ever seen. Can you believe there are women (really anyone who is not a white upper class man) in the world who actually believe that discriminating against someone is ok? And, really, what would the world be like if employers were not [...]

I am actually really enjoying these classes. Though it is interesting to interact with people who don’t know what is actually going on in the world. I actually had to inform my class(and teacher) about the Navy Seals that were killed in a helicopter crash after Osama Bin Laden was killed(I debated putting quotations around [...]

My results: Other results: The most interesting, though, is this one: What do you think of these [...]
