Wow, you have a short memory. Do you remember Iraq? The Patriot act? FEMA’s response to Katrina? The U.S. Attorney scandal? Yes, the Dems rolled over on all of these, but the push came from the other side. I have been fighting the rising tide of corporatist, rightist, christianist extremism for 40 years. It’s been hard. Perhaps it’s because I never bought into Obama’s “yes we can” post-partisan B.S. in the first place, but I’m not so disappointed now. Sometimes it is hard. If I ever have to vote for Diane Feinstein again, I may injure myself. But I will, when she’s running against a Republican who will vote every time with Mitch McConnell, not just sometimes.

I know that Obama make the administration of Richard Nixon look like a bunch of pinkos, but with the modern Republicans, you would get even shorter-sighted corporatists than we have now, plus theocracy, bureaucratic bungling, and a really paranoid, inept foreign policy. There is a difference and pretending there isn’t one because you are frustrated is not helpful.
