Legion303 commented on the blog post Debt Ceiling Tick-Tock
The “Super Congress” is about as competent as Super Grover.
Feckless fuckheads.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Grand Bargain Talks Break Down
“He said that Democrats bent over backwards, pushing the deal as far in the Republicans’ direction as possible.”
Despite his continued fellating of the republicans, clearly he needs to do more. Come on, Obama, really buckle down now. Less teeth, perhaps.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Early Morning Swim
“[...] even if Republican obstructionists try to ram our ship of state into a fiscal iceberg like the corporate pirates they are [...]”
Even though this is possibly the worst metaphor ever (pirates run ships into icebergs now?), that was an interesting read.
Re: “Too little, too late”: indeed it is. I don’t know why Obama’s suddenly so concerned about corporate welfare^W tax subsidies now, when he should have been looking into the matter when he took office two and a half years ago. Makes good political drama for prime-time, I guess.

AKA “pulling a Ronnie.” Which is in turn AKA “the Colonel Klink defense.”

Legion303 commented on the diary post A Congress Unwilling to Exercise Its War Powers by Kevin Gosztola.
Remember when the Bush congress received a large delivery of rubber stamps? It’s probably time for the Obama congress to get the same treatment.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Chiquita’s Alleged Victims Can Sue for Torture, But Not Terrorism
“Chiquita first argues that the ‘plain reading of the TVPA strongly suggests that it only covers human beings, and not corporations.’”
But since SCOTUS claims corporations are people now, Chiquita can eat a bowl of dicks. The law cuts both ways, banassholes.

Legion303 commented on the blog post For-Profit Prisons: Another Failed Privatization of a Government Service
I predict new laws allowing private-sector prisons to feed inmates only once per day, disallow hot water, sell off old weight equipment and put them to work as telemarketers to line the pockets of the masters^W owners. They are bound by law to save money, after all.

Legion303 commented on the blog post He’s not worth the salt of his tears
Boner didn’t even offer Obams the courtesy of a reacharound.

Legion303 commented on the diary post In America Being Poor is a Criminal Offense by Rania Khalek.
So, uh, how much will this mandatory testing cost, exactly?
Derp.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Obama Decides Against Releasing Bin Laden Photos
The head will move TOWARD a small, fast projectile in accordance with Newtonian physics, so I’m not sure what you’re getting at.

Nikon can’t do it any more. Image verification has been compromised for several weeks at least.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Panetta: Pakistan Would Have Short-Circuited the Mission to Take Out Bin Laden
“If ObL was such a ‘threat,’ then why did GW Bush say as early as 2002 that he (W) didn’t think about ObL ‘all that much’??”
Because GW Bush is a fucking idiot.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Obama Interrupts Celebrity Apprentice to Announce Osama Bin Laden is Dead
Still have to log in every single time I want to comment, FDL. Apparently the “remember me” checkbox doesn’t actually do shit. This is why I don’t comment much these days.
So anyway, we were watching the “news” coverage last night when I told my wife to switch over to Fox News to see if they were complaining about how long it had taken Obama to hunt down OBL. Are we the only ones who were watching when Geraldo said “Obama’s dead”? Then he looked off-camera at his producer or something, giggled (no, really) and said “oh…what did I say?”
Classy.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Late Night: Big Bird’s Hate for America Cannot Be Stopped
What in the fuck is wrong with these people?
This isn’t a rhetorical question.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Libyan Rebels Take Ajdabiya, May Take Arms from US
“The U.S. is considering providing arms to Libyan rebels who are trying to topple Col. Moammar Gadhafi, but hasn’t yet made a final decision, a senior American diplomat said Friday.”
I say go for it. The strategy worked great in Afghanistan back when we were fighting the Soviet Union. I can’t see any possible way it could backfire, like, ever.
Also when we gave weapons to Saddam Hussein. There is no downside, people.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Feel the love
Looking at side-by-side pictures of any republican congressman and a Sharia-embracing taliban member, I see a man who hates women and wants to keep them in their place, and I also see a Sharia-embracing taliban member.
Thank you. I’ll be here all night.

Legion303 commented on the blog post George W Bush Won’t Share Stage with Someone Who Has Harmed US Interests
“[...] than all of the cables Julian Assange has leaked.”
You mean all the cables Assange has *published*. Someone else leaks the information, and wikileaks publishes it. It might seem like a minor distinction, but the idea is that the people with brain cells left will equate wikileaks with any news publisher, like they should.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Libya, Iraq, Egypt – The Uprisings Continue
How long until the idiots crawl out of the woodwork and claim GWB catalyzed all these uprisings?

Legion303 commented on the blog post Lamo’s Two (?!) Laptops
“AND, what’s absurd is the notion that he ‘no longer has access’ to his older key. I don’t use PGP keys, but I’m fairly certain that the private key would be just another string of characters. It’s *absurd* that he wouldn’t have access to older keys.”
Not at all. All implementations of PGP have a means of key revocation, to invalidate old or compromised keys. Once you revoke it, it’s useless.
