Legion303 commented on the blog post ReleaseTheMemos.com: Tracking Obama’s Promise of Transparency on Targeted Killings
He promises transparency a lot. I haven’t actually seen any, but maybe another 8 or 9 promises will convince me he’s sincere. Or, you know, some actual fucking transparency.
-
Legion303 commented on the blog post Call Your Senators: No Targeted Killing Memos, No Brennan Confirmation
“President Obama has consistently promised to be more transparent.”
After about the 30th or 40th promise the only thing transparent is the fact that he’s lying through his teeth.

Legion303 commented on the blog post What If an Assassination Court Reviewed Placement of US Citizens on the President’s Kill List?
No. The FISA court rubber-stamped all but 4 (iirc) cases in its history, until George W. Fucknut came in and bypassed it because it was apparently too much of a bother. Assassination orders are elements of dictatorships, regardless of oversight.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Boehner’s Counter-Offer: How About the Ryan Budget? Bowles-Simpson? Help Me Out Here!
Boner and pals are eager to be blamed for this “fiscal cliff” bullshit just so they can keep their pledge to that unelected twerp Grover Norquist, though even they must realize that it’s going to hurt their entire party in midterms. It’s really quite mystifying.

Legion303 commented on the diary post ALERT: Kill-The-Gays Part Has NOT Been Removed from Ugandan Bill — and Could Reach the Ugandan President’s Desk Next Week by Phoenix Woman.
Evangelical dipshits: “How were we supposed to know that telling Ugandans gays were evil and wanted to rape their kids and destroy their families would have negative consequences?”

Legion303 commented on the diary post That’s No Grand Bargain, That’s a Surrender by masaccio.
“But at least it’s not all bad.”
That’s like saying “At least this shit stew doesn’t have any corn in it!”
And the attitude of waiting to see what Obama will do makes no sense to me. The man’s as predictable as an atomic clock.

Legion303 commented on the diary post FBI Raids Broadwell’s Home by Elliott.
There’s nothing strange about that. It’s far more important to prevent blackmail leverage against spies.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Obama Plans to Hit Road With Oh-So-Popular Message of Cutting Social Security and Medicare
Man, I sure am glad black Romney beat white Obama. If it were the other way around, our rights would be eroded, banks would be fellated, and social security would be on the chopping block.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Pope Canute yet to google “Santorum”
I can kind of see the Catholics’ point. I mean, all they want to do is prevent people from diluting the sanctity of domestic abuse and high divorce rates. Er, marriage.
-
Legion303 commented on the blog post President Obama Wins Re-Election
The rich corporate suck-up who wants to cut social security beat the other rich corporate suck-up who wants to cut social security! Hooray!

Legion303 commented on the blog post Voter Suppression In Action in Florida, Ohio Over the Weekend
“One even allows for state funding of churches.”
Oh, I hope Floridians pass this one. When I retire I’d like to move there and force the state to pay for my grand Flying Spaghetti Monster cathedral.

Legion303 commented on the blog post IN Sen: Richard Mourdock Poll Numbers Collapse After Rape Comment
Said Donnelly shortly after news of the poll numbers: “Holy fuck, did someone inject Mourdock with stupid sauce?”

Legion303 commented on the blog post Late Night: The Elves Arise
So when can we expect the Catholic Church to lose its tax-exempt status?

Legion303 commented on the blog post Jeep Auto Workers Fear for Their Jobs After False Romney Ads in Ohio
Like none of you has ever bungled a statement before. Stop being so hard on Romney. He obviously meant to say that *if he were CEO of Chrysler* then Jeep production would move to China.

Legion303 commented on the diary post Hurricane Sandy Brings Wind, Rain and Irony to US Nuclear Plants by Gregg Levine.
Every power reactor in the US is the same type as Fukushima Daiichi. We used to have a prototype of a much safer design close to where I live, but the owner got tired of paying to iron out minor bugs and converted it to coal instead.
-
Legion303 commented on the blog post White House Vows to Veto Any Fiscal Cliff Actions Without Increase in Top Marginal Rates
The WH vows lots of things. I’ll believe it when it happens, without Obama grabbing his ankles in the name of bipartisanship.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Obama Campaign Offers Romney a Deal on His Tax Returns
I’m raising a family on a single income, and my tax rate last year was close to 29%. Does this piece of shit Romney really think his 13% rate is something to brag about?
Right now I don’t care about his tax returns. Hammer the claim itself as being ludicrous and out of touch. Because when the returns are finally released or leaked, you can be damn sure they’ll show way less than 13%.

Legion303 commented on the blog post Debt Ceiling Tick-Tock
The “Super Congress” is about as competent as Super Grover.
Feckless fuckheads.
-
Legion303 commented on the blog post Grand Bargain Talks Break Down
“He said that Democrats bent over backwards, pushing the deal as far in the Republicans’ direction as possible.”
Despite his continued fellating of the republicans, clearly he needs to do more. Come on, Obama, really buckle down now. Less teeth, perhaps.
-
Legion303 commented on the blog post Early Morning Swim
“[...] even if Republican obstructionists try to ram our ship of state into a fiscal iceberg like the corporate pirates they are [...]”
Even though this is possibly the worst metaphor ever (pirates run ships into icebergs now?), that was an interesting read.
Re: “Too little, too late”: indeed it is. I don’t know why Obama’s suddenly so concerned about corporate welfare^W tax subsidies now, when he should have been looking into the matter when he took office two and a half years ago. Makes good political drama for prime-time, I guess.
