lennyp commented on the blog post Elizabeth Warren Expresses No Confidence in Current Bank Accountability Measures
There is no issue with Warren’s accountability just as her Cherokee heritage is a non-issue. The simple fact of the matter is that she, an honorable and honest woman, is a threat to those that currently have bought our country ergo whatever it takes to bring her down whether it be lies, innuendo, or FUD will be used.

Were that Elizabeth Warren were running for president this year! She’s won’t sell us out as Obama has done.

lennyp commented on the blog post Maybe The 39% Aren’t Wrong
If Obama goes the 14th amendment route and declares the debt ceiling unconstitutional it is highly likely that the Repubs will immediately go to court to challenge Obama with the distinct possibility that a court will put everything on hold pending the legal battle and outcome in the courts. Of course, it would end up SCOTUS where all bets are off as to the outcome. SCOTUS has a marvelous way of divining what the writers of the Constitution and the amendments intended regardless of the words they chose to express themselves.

lennyp commented on the blog post Simply Telling Others to Come Up With All the Details Isn’t Actually a “Plan”
We should be pushing “our” politicians to support the people’s budget. Thank you for bringing it up

lennyp commented on the blog post Retaliating against State-Sponsored Cyber War
Actually, I can see hacking by another government as an act of war. What if, during the Cold War the Soviets hacked into our missile system and re-targeted the warheads? What if Pakistan hacked into our air traffic control with the express purpose of destroying planes and the people in them. How about a foreign country hacking into the computer in our cars and wrecking havoc in our daily lives? There are numerous other deadly scenarios which can be created.
The problem I see, simply put, is I don’t trust “our” military or “our” government with the potential power this invests in them.

Since when do our laws apply to “our” military — or our politicians, for that matter? The only time the law seems to matter is when it’s for the expedience of whichever current political party is in charge.

And who is going to assure the accuracy of the ballot? Did Prosser really win in Wisconsin by around 7000 “lost” votes? Who really won the 2000 presidency? The way elections are done in most states leave them highly vulnerable to fraud — and with the new electronic voting the potential (actual?) fraud is very high.

lennyp commented on the blog post Poll Shocker: Republicans Like Ryan Plan, Dems Favor Obama, Few Follow Details
What interesting to me is the age breakdown. Apparently those with the greatest concern about the future, those who will be living with these decisions for most of their lives, are the ones most adamantly against the Ryan plan and prefer the Obama plan. And those who are the oldest and have a short term view prefer the Ryan plan.

Koch brother lackeys and the national guard. It would be the ultimate privatization and not uniques in the annuals of labor history in the U.S.

lennyp commented on the blog post Look Forward, and Promote the Torturers
“These are the CIA officers responsible for the Agency’s biggest known fuck-ups and crimes since 9/11.”
Where as to us these are (to put it mildly) “fuck-ups,” to our “intelligence” community they are business as usual. What is the scariest to me is the simple fact that those in our intelligence community, and most all of those politicians that oversee our intelligence community find nothing wrong in these actions except perhaps that they came to light.
Whether it’s the rationalization of the ends justifying the means as an excuse for crimes against humanity (eg torture) or simply an easy venue for sadists to practice their arts, our intelligence and political community is in need of a complete overhaul starting with international prosecution as per the Nuremberg trials.

What I don’t understand is how those that purport to be free marketers are those that demand tort reform the loudest? Don’t they understand that tort reform is simply government regulation under another name and equally “noxious?”
