Any band whose songs include the line “swords wet, like a young girl in her prime” is just beyond silly. In my more metal-head days, I spent unhealthy amounts of times on the Iron Maiden BB (remember bulletin boards? it’s what we used to call forums.) All us Maiden fans spent a lot of time mocking ManOWar’s ridiculously over the top lyrics and oiled chests. But really, considering we all praised the virtues of Blind Guardian’s Tolkein-based lyrics, it was more than a bit hypocritical.

Judging by the line going around the block to see this movie at my neighborhood indie theater, lots of liberals are suffering from this nostalgia.
