longtail commented on the blog post The 501(c)3 Grift That Keeps On Grifting
I had borrors in my corn a couple of years ago, but as to the tea party, they were started by the Koch brothers as an astroturf lobbying group posing as a grassroots taxpayer organization. I would take a long hard look at their non-profit designation if I was the IRS.

longtail commented on the blog post Nearly Half Of Republicans Believe “Armed Revolution Might Be Necessary in Next Few Years”
I don’t think it’s exactly news that 44% of Republicans are having difficulty coping with the 21st century.

longtail commented on the blog post Bush’s Greatest Sin Was Telling America to Be Afraid
Was that his greatest sin or his greatest brainstorm? The constant raising of the threat level every time a controversial new piece of legislation was proposed was a brilliant way to keep the opposition off balance.

Not much separation between branches of government. Probably Iowans should check to see if their politicians have had a civics class.

longtail commented on the diary post Romney on Mormonism and what a conservative bad-ass Governor he was by TobyWollin.
Romney may not be likeable but McCain was really nasty and Bush was incredibly self centered and shallow. Kerry was not a nice man and Mr. Gore, although a nice guy was weird. At the risk of sounding liberal, Mr. Obama and Mr. Clinton have been the only recent presidential canidates who were regular guys.

longtail commented on the blog post “Fine, whatever, just leave me alone”
Even though he has run a terrible campaign and will extend Bush policies that caused the recession, Gov. Romney may well win if voting machines can’t count Democratic votes.

longtail commented on the blog post Oh, good plan
I think that the level of voter suppression we are seeing around the country says a lot about the decline of democracy which is being spearheaded by the Republican party.
