My AZ son tells me that Arpaio is pretty much considered a jackass outside of Maricopa Co. He really believes he’s hotshit because he gets national attention.

Also too I heard WXPN this afternoon, talking about the festivities going down in central PA & thought it was just that particular station behind local record stores. How cool is it to discover it’s global?

Hey, Muffa (if I may be so familiar),
what terrifically eclectic taste you possess. -

You gotta remember that us po’ folks are stayin’ home on the gov’t dime.
We good Americants won’t let that shit continue. -

Laura, I’m with you.
Are we living the same life? We need the credit card to be able to buy enough gas so we can get to our workplace in order to earn enough to pay off the card so we can get more gas….

WOW>.
Thank you for putting into words what I was raised to believe.
The oddest thing here (on Easter Sunday) is that I experienced the same thing put in action (God in action – what all religions should teach) while at work. It was as if Jesus was right NEXT to me saying “forgive them, you are exactly the same as they” but WITHOUT any guilt!!!!!!!!!
Rockin’.

Hey! I watched Attack the other day.
It was pretty good, funny & well-acted. Or maybe that was because British accents RULE.

I read somewhere that Gore agreed with Bush that Iraq needed to be brought into line. But he lacked Cheney’s input, though he would have had Lieberman, a dino, to filter his conservatism through.

I myself can’t help but wonder if the nasty older ladies of FDL (and I’m one of them) maybe have too much stress in their lives. Or drink too much on occasion. Or just don’t get enough sleep…

Right! The more people/entities one is screwed by, the more one must screw others just to survive. The ‘trickle down’ theory in all its glory, personified in capitalism.

I am “working class”,
63, did not graduate college, and I sense, very strongly at times, that no one here at FDL cares what I have to say.Of course, I am ALWAYS late for the post so that could account for it.
But then again maybe not… -

It is so obvious that parents need to set examples, encourage their children, be involved in the educational process, understand their children’s needs.
The saddest aspect of the conservative POV is the lack of awareness of human failings or inabilities.

magnet48 commented on the blog post Romney on Higher Education: Shop Around
Over the years I’ve noted that, as the govrernment takes on the task of enabling (and I use that word in a positive context) citizens to better themselves, or better feed themselves, or better house or care for their health, then that aspect of our society grows exponentially more & more expensive for EVERYONE.
My question: is this a bug or a feature of our (or of any) economy)?
