Thank you! We’ve shown a bunch in the Bay Area and I’m sure we will again. I lived there at the time of the bombing too and went out immediately with my friend and started filming. I had met Judi and Darryl months before.

I love that people are interested in seeing in-depth docs and talk about the stories they cover. I think docs fill a huge need for helping us understand the world.

I think whoever bombed them expected to kill them, then scrambled afterwards

The activities at the time of the bombing were working. Massive tree-sits, blockades, lines of communication with loggers. It was a desparate time. The trees really were falling fast-

We can do this kind of stuff again to harness sources for good. We’re going to have to build those alliances and I’m really impressed to see Occupy still doing it , with Sandy, Debt work, etc

It is easier with the internet and google earth, etc… But even worse problems – climate change – are barreling down at us hard.

I think we all need to step up our game in building the world we want. So understanding all the context and lineage helps. Understanding the relentless tactics of the opposition that are so fearful and just plain greedy. They used fake press release right before redwood summer, a non-violent summer of actions, the fake press releases were made to look like an Earth First splinter group advocating violence. People need to be careful, but also not too fearful of all these tactics. We need to take them on, and I think their house of cards is falling. Finally we can speak the words global warming again.

One of the other things I really want to have people remember is how powerful a female leader Judi was. She had an intellect that could kick anyone’s ass, and the wit to go with it. She made a huge difference in the world, and she needs to be known as an amazing example of what is possible!

In the bomb school training, they specifically taught that if a bomb is underneath a car it was probably an outside job, and if a bomb was found inside the car usually the drivers know it’s there. So they arrive on the scene to a scenario just like in their school, all set up to make a case against the driver….

The real movement will come when the evidence is actually tested by a real crime lab. It will happen, possibly soon.

We didn’t do any new interviews, we used all archival footage, much of it from indie videographers and news source. We wanted to take people on a journey through the time, the story, and not be looking back talking about it. I think it works to give the movie an emotional arc and a visceral sense of being there that a lot of docs can’t have. We covered everything we know to be true.

But the movie and more attention helps push it forward, and the lawyers!

Yep, exactly. Every fake press release chance they got, they ( the Timber Industry and Police) tried to make environmentalists look violent. The bomb that didn’t explode correctly at a mill 2 weeks before was probably a set up to make environmentalists look like bombers. But now it has evidence that could do the perpetrators in.
