Maryscott O'Connor commented on the diary post The One About France’s Law Banning The Burqa Is Anti-Woman. by toriach.
It’s not anti-woman. It’s anti-LIBERTY. You know — the first part of their freakin’ motto. In my own view, FUCK the burqa. But my philosophy of life demands freedom of expression, and if a woman wants to wear a burqa, it’s not my place to tell her she can’t. No matter how damned misguided I [...]

Yeah. There’s that. If we want to call THAT not getting a PONY…
Sheesh. Every day in more and more ways, my fellow “liberals” remind me of nothing so much as Bush apologists from the last Administration. And the fact that they cannot see it would be funny if it weren’t so fucking sad.

Just a guy on my Facebook page. No need to further humiliate him by naming him here.

Short post. Nothing much more to say about it. I’m a woman without a country lately. Not interested in co-signing the “My President, right or wrong” bullshit — and also not interested in playing with the “I’m taking my bat and ball and going home” kids. It’s lonely out in Sisyphusville.

Maryscott O'Connor wrote a new diary post: “The Dems Turn on Their Own the Moment They Don’t Get the Pony They Were Promised”
A little context for that — let’s call it “mildly off-putting” — remark:
The problem isn’t so much that people are calling him on his hypocrisy, it’s how they do it. They set their hair on fire and magnify their disappointment and disagreement to the point where it seems they’re ready to eat him alive [...]

I’ve had the exact same experience — all while watching total right wing douchebags get their comments published with NO censorship.

I don’t know if you ever saw it, but a long time ago, I posted (at DK and MLW, though I’m linking to the MLW version) a pretty long explication of intact dilation and extraction — what these dickwads call “partial-birth abortion,” but which designation the article thoroughly and, I think, decisively deligitimises… Of course, that [...]

Kurt, I really couldn’t say. I am deeply, deeply disappointed. This is the kind of crap I expect from conservatives and HuffPo.
Yuck.

Maryscott O'Connor commented on the diary post Duffy’s Conscience — Duffy Ain’t Here! by Phoenix Woman.
All well and good, but considering what I’ve been reading around here, there’s no point in supporting the Democratic Congressman, no matter how ethical and full of integrity he appears to be, because, after all, he’s a Democrat, and they’re just as horrible as the Republicans, and we should all be voting third party all [...]

Wow.
You really are just an unmitigated dick, aren’t you? Everywhere you go, you just piss all over everyone.
I note, by the way, that YOU don’t ever seem to put yourself out there and post your OWN essays. You have NO problem walking into discussions of other people’s and fucking with them. But there is no way in HELL you’d ever have the courage to post something of your own. God for-fucking-bid. Then you might actually have to experience some unremitting criticism of the tenor you like to lay out on other people.
I get the feeling, from the way you worded the comments in the discussion of my post, that you have a history of reading me. Not a good one; you come with a whole set of baggage. Which is — whatever. You also strike me as one of the hordes of people online who don’t give a shit WHAT effect of their words have on the intended subject; the recipients of your bile aren’t actual human beings, in your view. Just more targets for you to shoot at.
I’ve had more than enough experience with people like you to know there’s absolutely nothing I can say in a “dialogue” with you that will do anything but exacerbate the grotesque mockery of that word. There IS one thing I can DO, however (and that’s why I’m responding to you here, after doing a brief search of your profile here, to confirm my suspicions that A. You never post anything but comments and B. Those comments are mostly vicious and negative in the extreme) — and that is to decide and stick to the decision to just ignore you and your ilk. You fucking THRIVE on kicking the shit out of people, and the more they react, the better you like it.
So, as I’m sure you will, since people like you cannot RESIST it… go on and respond to this with all the acidity in your arsenal. I won’t be checking back to read it, so it will only be for your other audience.
I will, however, give myself this one last piece of satisfaction:
I don’t know if we DO know each other from somewhere else (probably DKos, that’s where most of the nasty so-called “progressives” seem to come from)… but whether we do or not, you are a fucking dick, and I’m very much looking forward to ignoring you whenever I have to from now on.
Here’s hoping you get some therapy, but not holding my breath.

Maryscott O'Connor commented on the diary post Caught Between the Scylla and Charybdis: The Existential Dilemma of a Liberal by Maryscott O'Connor.
It’s clear to me that I have no business engaging in the discussions here or anywhere when it comes to my own posts. First, I’m just too thin-skinned to stop myself from reacting in a defensive and irrational manner to negative response — whether it’s civil or not, evidently. Second, I clearly cannot gauge the [...]

Oh — and I note, for the record, that my initial plea for civility was categorically ignored in favour of the vitriol. Par for the course, I guess, and I’m equally guilty now… but I really did want to TRY. Funny thing, when I get attacked right out of the gate by someone who calls [...]

El Duderino — you cannot — CANNOT — say something like “So you’d have us vote for Obama again KNOWING he’s even worse than anyone the Republicans would put up, if not as bad…” and actually believe it’s true. Can you? He’s EVEN WORSE than Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Haley Barbour… jesus christ, I can’t [...]

I know (reply) — I just forgot to click it. And we are in complete agreement vis a vis the Ben Nelsons of the world. As for Lieberman, he’s pretty much left the Democratic Party, but yeah. I see a huge difference between Ben Nelson and Barack Obama, however, in their titles alone. Imagine, improbably, [...]
