• It’s a sad commentary on where we are as a country when a third of the commenters raise the possibility that Hastings was killed instead of dying an accidental death and those suspicions actually have some validity.
My first thought when I heard about this was what he was currently working on. Sad but true. We have become a soulless murdering country and all that’s important are the results of bullshit reality shows.

The truth is that when Poindexter announced his TIA program everyone went batshit crazy and he supposedly withdrew it without ever implementing any of it. If you believed that, then you also believed that when Nixon supposedly closed down Operation Gemstone the entire operation was snuffed out. It wasn’t. It was reincarnated as the Huston [...]

The Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance, is the progeny of a charter member of the Continuity of Government going back to the 50s. His first instinct is to protect secrets and prosecute/torture anyone who thinks s/he has a right to know what the Owners are doing.

Who fucking cares at this point?
Really? Electoral politics? We need to be armed and in the streets leading all these motherfuckers to concrete walls they can stand against as their crimes are read out loud to them, so they can see the depths to which they’ve driven people who were once hard-working and patriotic in the real sense of the word not in the false wrap the flag around me while I drain peoples’ bank accounts and retirement plans sense.
Elections held on unverifiable, hackable GOP-owned machines to elect minstrel blackface presidents who are intent on lying to us while killing off those of us who do not agree.

  • Of course they don’t want to stop medical bankruptcies. That would put too many parasitical lawyers out of business.

Barry understands economics perfectly, at least the economics of personal enrichment. He knows that his policies aren’t operating in some zero-sum vacuum. He’s a wholly-owned commodity of the Owner Class. He won’t be one of them, but he and his family will benefit greatly from his perfidy.

  • The scary part of this, aside from making political dissent an act of terrorism, is that Chesimard is already on the same island as our gulag. I’m sure Cuban intelligence units and her own bodyguards are on high alert, but how hard would it be for a SEAL team to kidnap her and remove her [...]

  • Why in hell would anyone be surprised by this move after everything else this piece of shit has done?
He blames Gitmo’s continued existence on congress while he issues orders that allow him to kill Americans with impunity. The problem is we’re afraid the detainee’s who are returned to their own countries will be mistreated? How the hell could they be treated any worse than knowing that they will die in our custody for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Send them back to their countries and I guarantee most will be welcomed home.
America’s just afraid of the horror stories they have to tell which will radicalize those few people who haven’t already been turned into jihadis.

  • I’ve been trying to figure out cui bono from the Boston bombings and it occurs to me that there’s an emphasis on how the web played a big part in radicalizing the two prime suspects. It also occurs to me that CISPA is looking more and more likely to pass and the internet will become more restricted.
Then there’s the Russian/Chechen connection. What could be more detrimental to our already deteriorating relationship with Putin et al than a couple of Russian Islamists blowing up Americans?
Finally, does it seem a little coincidental that the guys were identified so quickly? Look at JFK’s murder. Within minutes Oswald was a named suspect. Look at the World Trade Center attacks. Less than 24 hours later the media had pictures and bios of the mostly Saudi alleged perps. And here we have two men on film, almost in isolation on the frames I’ve seen as if the camera was purposely focused on them. Remember Mohammed Atta walking through the airport on the morning of 9/11?
The only thing that surprises me is that no one has brought up the name Tamerlan as being of Persian origin. Hell, they could use it to blame Iran in that never-ending saga of blame.
While I’m not proclaiming the innocence of the Tsaraev brothers I do believe that the Owners have some splaining to do.

For a politician the middle class is that point between entering politics and cashing out. Therefore, serving the needs of the middle class is serving their own interests while slavishly advancing the interests of their owners. The rest of us, the proles, we aren’t even a variable in the equation.

I think I’ve come up with a great way to make up for the hit to my Social Security: A Road-KIll Cookbook. The meat’s already tenderized and if it’s been a hot couple of days already seared. Some roadside veggies like onions and dandelion greens would make a wonderful salad. And the dandelion flowers can [...]

Before anyone dismisses the likelihood of government involvement look at the prevalence of ad buys for Tamiflu recently. I remember when I was preparing to go to Russia a few years ago I wanted to bring Tamiflu along with me as an integral part of my personal survival pack. I had to jump through hoops to get a prescription and that was at a time when TPTB were trying to get everyone crazy scared about bird flu.
I guess Tamiflu’s owners produced more doses than their scare tactics justified so now anyone can get Tamiflu.
And let’s not forget that Ms. Garrett is a member of CFR, a part of the Owner class that likes to keep people scared so that the Owners and their friends can get lots of money.

We don’t need another 70 year old member of the Elite group and its minions in the White House. We need root and branch reform, a revolution if necessary.
