It’s important to note that the authenticity of the Manning – Lamo chat logs has never been independently verified. Bradley Manning has pleaded NOT Guilty.

For accuracy, they should be referred to as the Purported or Alleged chat logs. Accepting them as true harms Bradley Manning’s case.

The irony is, had the government treated Bradley Manning fairly, kindly and appropriately, none of this outrage or press attention would have occurred and it would have been far easier to railroad their charges through.

This is what many in our nation are willingly doing to themselves. We are fortunate more people have not been incited to violence.

I only see Fox News when I am trapped some place where it’s on and I can’t escape. What I have seen is frighteningly distorted and in some cases deranged.

Too bad the Federal Trade Commission does not have the political will to go after their “Fair and Balanced” slogan as deceptive advertising.

If the incidents were public, how could he be sure someone else was not using them to impersonate Assange?

If the NSA was monitoring these interactions, they have access to the contents. The subpoenas are window dressing to cover covert surveillance activity they don’t want made public.

We understand chain of custody.

There’s been a whole lot of hoopla about these logs, and what is and is not in them, while their authenticity has not been established.

We can’t assume the other side is playing by the rules or that they have respect for the rule of law.

The chronology suggests that the alleged Manning-Lamo chats occurred AFTER Lamo was hospitalized, presumably on a new laptop.

There has been NO independent verification of the authenticity of the alleged chat logs between Lamo and Manning. Forensic information verifying the creation of these logs was lost when Lamo’s hard drive was conveniently confiscated.
