mikebar wrote a new diary post: If the shoe fits
I don’t fit in and I don’t get it. I never did. I’ve been shunned most of my entire life because of it. It isn’t that I’m a trouble maker, I get along with my neighbors just fine. I don’t get the world though and because I just don’t get it, I’m an eccentric hermit [...]

mikebar wrote a new diary post: addendum to ‘ An idea that dried up…’
When I did some research to find out how to extract Carbon from Carbon Dioxide and found that no one knew how to do it, I was shocked. I was shocked because I knew Mr. Goofyass in highschool sophomore science class 45 years ago couldn’t do it but that was Mr. Goofyass back then. So [...]

mikebar wrote a new diary post: An idea that dried up like a raisin in the sun.
Carbon has over 10,000+ uses. Real uses, intrinsic uses, not like gold which only basically has extrinsic use, namely jewelry. We are carbon based life forms and carbon goes into practically everything you can touch or see from food preservatives to medicine to Tungsten carbide. So I had this idea to create 3+ million jobs [...]

mikebar commented on the diary post Bishops Tap Veteran of Islamophobic, Homophobic Legal Shop as Top Flack by RH Reality Check.
I don’t practise religion per se but I try to live a spiritual life. But from my knowledge of the Bible a person is considered to be alive when they draw breath. Adam wasn’t alive until God snorted the breath of life into him. So how is abortion sacrilegious?

mikebar commented on the diary post Dear MSM: Spare Me Your Lame, “Dow Soars!” pieces. I want Comeuppance Stories! by spocko.
I don’t understand how the change that overcame this country starting way back in the early ’70′s is best for the country. I believe in having some form of economic parity with a ceiling on accumulated wealth. I think $100 million tops is reasonable but then I’m just a nobody.

mikebar wrote a new diary post: A remarkable fellow
This diamond heist of over $50 million in gems reminds me of a person I met decades ago. I’ll tell this story now because this guy is either dead or very old and it won’t matter any longer. I had his name and address written down in a little black address book but I haven’t [...]

mikebar commented on the diary post People really like laugh tracks, …Really? by mikebar.
I agree. I’m older perhaps but I really liked Carol Burnette. She’d start the show by greeting audience members, giving the Tarzan yell and whatnot. It was good comedy.

mikebar commented on the diary post People really like laugh tracks, …Really? by mikebar.
It was the laugh track inventor. So one would expect him to try and justify that canned laughter crap. What puzzles me is NPR didn’t call him out on it. I guess they were trying to be polite even if it meant dishonesty on their part.

mikebar wrote a new diary post: People really like laugh tracks, …Really?
Is it true what they say about laugh tracks on television? You know the piped in laughter during a comedy show rather than the actual laughter coming from a live audience. I heard an interview tonight on NPR where it was said that people liked the laugh track laughter during a show, that it gave [...]

mikebar wrote a new diary post: How To Trim a Bunch of Well Heeled Snobs
When Michael was little he became of interest to God. Actually more than just an interest, you could say Michael became a friend of God. And it had a variety of ways in which it expressed itself in the real world about him. So, for example, about that vicious pit bull that was chained in [...]

mikebar commented on the blog post GOP: Obama Budget “a shocking attack on seniors”
This year COLA pushed me up to $9756 annually. I’m OK but others simply can’t be me, no way. I’d like to see economic parity in this country. A ceiling on wealth. I’m not selfish, make it 100 million. Anything earned beyond that goes to a pool for the social safety net. If I can do it on less than $10,000 those who claim they can’t do it on 100 million can come by me and pay for instructions on how not to be overwhelmed by such low self esteem.

mikebar wrote a new diary post: A Point of View on Getting Old by the Old (or just exercising my piehole)
I’m not exactly sure how I want to write this. I’m old beyond my years but I’m not having a senior moment. And I know that the firedoglake website isn’t for how someone like myself writes. But this is what’s coming for some but not all. I comment on stuff the way a commentator might. [...]

mikebar commented on the diary post A Big Government Program by mikebar.
It has to be federal. Think about it. Everything that has a heartbeat can get rabies, from wild dog to walrus. One region can’t be done and the next left untouched. Insects migrate. They even take rides on your vehicles. Or in the case of bedbugs, your mattresses. I don’t think fleas are a rabies [...]

Yes. And it’s a serious one. Bats are done differently. They go into where they know bats are congrugating while they’re snoozing and give them a little spray of rabies vaccine. Then when the bats groom themselves they lick it off their fur. Bats are hard to do though because so many nest in unattainable [...]

mikebar commented on the blog post Why Obama Should Endorse Industrial Hemp Now
I don’t smoke pot but I once did. And 42 years ago I could have told you it isn’t the hemp though it makes fine twine. It’s the seeds. Crushed they produce the finest machine oil in the world. I think I have my fact right. I don’t think any other machine oil is better. Sorry if I’m wrong on that. ‘ve never heard of better oil.

mikebar wrote a new diary post: A Big Government Program
I’m writing about a big government program that I know a little about but don’t know what it’s called. What it’s called doesn’t seem very relevant so I won’t even try to find out that bit of information. I want to write about it because so many republicans say that they are against big government [...]

mikebar wrote a new diary post: On Sex and Love and Money
1) Sex has an ugly side to it. 2) Sex has a dark side. 3) Sex has a deviant behavioral aspect. 4) Sex has what I call the ‘false love’ reinforcement justification for the marital sacrament responsiblity. 5) And then there is the sexual drive/appetite compulsion tied to the biological need. 6) Finally sex can [...]

mikebar wrote a new diary post: What it’s all about
Hi to whoever’s reading this. I’m Mike and I’m going to tell you what it’s all about. Believe it or not, there are people who’d like to know so I’m going to give them a head’s up. Ever wonder, what’s the meaning of life? There are plenty of people who will claim that can’t be [...]

mikebar commented on the diary post President Obama: Stop the Killing at Home… and Abroad by dogbroth.
The way I see it is all the statistics about guns will never really be effective in achieving some gun control if that’s what people want because they’re never measured against a constant as far as home protection goes. Like 45,000 people killed each year by guns. So many a % were owners killed by [...]
