Mead sounds like he has been hanging around with David Brooks, drudging up a load of revisionist history, and lamenting the loss of the ever elusive moral compass; which apparently we once had during those heady days in the 40′s and 50′s. You know, the time of legal segregation and oppression of women. Good, moral stuff like that.
