misswildthing commented on the blog post SF Pride Chief Operating Officer Resorts to Lies as Scandal Around Honoring Bradley Manning Continues
Kevin, you are mixing up two positions in this story. Lisa Williams is chair of the board. earl Plante is the CEO, paid staff. Lisa is a volunteer. Earl Plante replaced the previous CEO who was kicked to the curb by the board after restoring some faith by paying off the debts, paying out promised donations to the grantees and being out and from the SF community. There is an infrastructure issue of the board, the transparency and lack thereof as well as accountability. But the changes you refer to were with the staff in paid positions not as president of the board.

I have been unemployed for almost four years. I have not lost one job opportunity to an undocumented person.

misswildthing commented on the diary post Reluctant to Hire the Unemployed? Too Bad, Says NYC by Michelle Chen.
Next month will be four years without a job. I am way over 50. The last job interview for an urban garden position that I was asked to apply to i was asked if I could use a computer to research plant problems. Yes, I can use the Google, my blog, Twitter, Facebook and type. [...]

misswildthing commented on the diary post Election Rigging Plotted on ABC’s Scandal: The Real Life Backstory by Sheila Parks.
In most of northern NM there were no op scans. Of course the voting should be monitored, no argument but that just wasn’t the case. There were patrons (say this with the accent on the second syllable) who demanded money for the votes to come out the right way. They would make sure their counties [...]

misswildthing commented on the diary post Election Rigging Plotted on ABC’s Scandal: The Real Life Backstory by Sheila Parks.
I lived in New Mexico for 10 years. We saw elections decided by ballot boxes showing up after the election with votes for only one candidate. The box was carried into county headquarters by the candidate’s father. Lots of dead people were voting. All of this was done with hand counted ballots. I am wondering [...]

misswildthing commented on the blog post Obama Ready to Fold on Tax Rates
I don’t know, it seems to me that getting this done in some way so that people won’t lose their unemployment insurance has to be way more important than which income level gets more taxes. The conversation about Obama not acting the right way do not take into consideration the families who really are looking over the cliff.

misswildthing commented on the blog post Sunday Late Night: Portland Pride Report
Teddy, I have been a grand marshalette for four different Pride parades. That is just about as much fun as a gal can have with clothes on.
You are right about San Francisco being a mega affair. But my tastes are more towards the small town events like Santa Cruz just to see how many fairies could be seen downtown wearing branches and twigs to barely cover their trunks!
Happy Pride! Feliz dia de Orgullo!

misswildthing commented on the blog post This Just In: Love And Marriage Often Go Together Like A Horse And Carriage
Margaret when I lived in NM I was one of three lgbt lobbyists. I promised the transgender community that I would work my ass off to make sure we all got to the finish line together. We got both an ENDA bill and hate crimes passed, both of them transgender inclusive. We were the first in the country to cross that finish line together.
To this day I am so grateful that I can look all people in the eye and know I kept my word and that ALL my brothers and sisters are equal in the Land of Enchantment. If we talk about equality it really does mean for all, not just the better off or the better connected. Time for people to put up , shut up or get the hell out of the way. We are going to get there, together.

misswildthing commented on the diary post Who would you trust to repair Komen’s reputation? by Teddy Partridge.
After all the sewage that spewed from Virginia this week, coupled with the putrid discussions from the Republican candidates over the last two weeks I think all respectful men should step aside and defer to all the women around them. Don’t say a word, simply bow down and let us do the talking. All melanin [...]

Rubio will not be able to withstand the spotlight glare. There is way too much that goes on in Miami that won’t play well outside of south Florida. He is just up to his eyeballs in funny AMEX expenditures when he was head of the state R party. Plus Latinos are furious with him over his shitty immigration policies. He won’t bring in all us wayward Latinos because we know a gusano when we see one.

I am waiting for the 5:30 KTVU/Oakland news. They have gone through the 80 people arrested and are going to identify where they are fro.
