monkeychamp commented on the blog post More Signs Obama Will Likely Approve Keystone XL
In a fairly recent Nation article, Bill McKibben was making the case for BO not going forward with it. But I’ve heard the theory that John Kerry, with his relatively “sterling” environmental record, was brought in to be the face of the approval and play BO’s stooge for it publicly. There’s a ton of money to be made on approving this thing…I think BO approves it in the name of Jobs and the Economy and Kerry is forced to take the backlash from the environmental groups. I don’t think the average American gives a cr@p about this. Am I wrong?

monkeychamp commented on the diary post Avoid buying Koch Industries products with new phone app! by cgibson.
I love the idea & i’ll use it when it’s on Android. I gotta say, it’s a little ironic and hypocritical to use it on a f@cking iPhone. Foxconn anyone? Please, someone make a phone without slave labor, too. I know, my Huwaeii phone is made in China, Apple fans.

monkeychamp commented on the blog post Bradley Manning Describes ‘Collateral Murder’ Video as ‘War Porn’
No where in this tape do the Soldiers realize what they’ve done. They thought this was a fair engagement, folks. They thought they saw weapons.
http://www.bradleymanning.org/learn-more/collateral-murder-videoWhere is any proof that they knew they were shooting innocents? If we had that, I would be supporting Manning. Show me some real War Crimes that Manning released. Where are they? This isn’t one.
The real criminals are Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc, don’t forget that.@bloodypitchfork – listen to the tape, @sshole. I did.
Easy for you to judge these soldiers after all the facts are known.

monkeychamp commented on the blog post Bradley Manning Describes ‘Collateral Murder’ Video as ‘War Porn’
Slam me for saying so, but I think we need to wait a little before crowning Manning a hero. He volunteered. He had a choice in serving in this f@cked up Iraq War. Is it surprising there’s collateral damage in a war? When I watched the Manning helicopter video, the Soldiers clearly think these people have weapons and are legitimate targets – their surveillance was done thru video. In My Lai, people were lined up and mowed down – Villagers, in person. Not the same thing.

monkeychamp commented on the diary post Reaction to the S&P Lawsuit Is Just What You’d Expect by masaccio.
I am flabbergasted it’s taken this long for these ratings agencies to be sued. Where are the private lawsuits as well? These rating agencies rated absolute dog sh!t as Grade AAA Investment grade paper that money markets were buying. Doh! Proving something like Negligent Misrepresentation shouldn’t be a chore. However, no one seems to have [...]

monkeychamp commented on the diary post Ezra Klein Strikes Out Big on Immigration and Demographics by Dean Baker.
We need to stop seeing immigration thru the eyes of the words on the Statue of Liberty. We’re not that country anymore – because we are mature.

monkeychamp commented on the blog post Senate Democrats Really Don’t Want to Govern
Hard to conclude anything other than Dems want Kabuki theater over doing anything. They prove their most cynical critics from the Left correct about this. I’m infuriated and disappointed.

Allen West will probably make a nice living being a professional @ss clown on talk radio.

monkeychamp commented on the blog post Sunday Talking Heads: December 30, 2012
Did anyone catch David Gregory’s comments addressing some “Punditry” criticism by BO surrogates? So lame.

monkeychamp commented on the blog post CIA Head David Petraeus Resigns in Scandal
Right wingers throwing out Benghazi conspiracy theories already…just watched some no-name Radio-winger basically making things up on TV on cue for Larry Kudlow. Hopefully, the wingers will get to wax on this for a few days before further information comes out. Should be entertaining.

If you have some ca$h, and you see the market tanking like that, BUY. After sanity returns, sell.
These dopes lost 440 million, ha! The people who write these programs probably understand their limitations. The people who pay these people to write the code probably don’t. -
monkeychamp commented on the blog post FDL Book Salon Welcomes Stephen L. Goldstein, Atlas Drugged: Ayn Rand Be Damned!
This book has to be far more entertaining & better written than Atlas Shrugged.
I started reading AS to see what the big hullabaloo was about it. I couldn’t get past about 400 pages. It was completely dull – as a novel it totally sucks. If you’re going to spend 1,000+ pages explaining your crappy, cynical world view in the form of a novel, make it entertaining. At least a little. After reading the sentence “Who is John Galt” for the umpteenth time, I threw the book away and said, “I don’t give a sh!t.” -

Gift to BO and Dems. Sit back and enjoy the stupidity. Will make great campaign commercials.

monkeychamp commented on the blog post Move Your Money: Hundreds of Thousands of Transfers From Big Banks to Small in Last Three Months
I dumped Chase and EASILY found a local Credit Union. Anyone using a TARPMortgage FraudCredit Default Swap bank needs to move to a smaller bank or credit union.
I got a credit card from them as well–they do car loans, home mortgages, home equity lines of credit, etc. These banks earn transaction fees on your debitcredit transactions even if you a small amount of money as an average balance.
I have Bill pay and online access that is as functional as Chase’s. It’s not quite as pretty, but it does everything. What a great thing Move your Money was. Something you can actually do that will make a difference. And guess what, “I love Firing people who provide me services!”

monkeychamp commented on the blog post Enough: Stock Market Drops Have Nothing to Do With Super Committee FAIL
It didn’t help the stock market. It could have added to today’s decline. Europe is the over-riding concern, but traders haven’t paid much attention to this “Stupid Committee” thing. Tying political events to daily moves in the stock market is pretty dumb, most of the time.
The dysfunction in congress is hurting us, though some evidence is contradictory. The debt coverage ratio on a T-Bill auction today was a whopping 4-to-1. 4 bids for every dollar offered. An amazing statement for investor’s desire for US debt. -
