Fix your Google. Gretchen Mortgenson, Pulitzer Prize Winning Business Journalist of the NY Times interviewed her years ago when the MERS scandal first broke with respect to the Boyko decisions in Ohio. Gretchen wrote a long article on MERS based on her interview of Katie. Katie was a Professor of Law at Iowa State at the time. She was a graduate of Harvard Law School, and probably was mentored by Professor Elizabeth Warren when she taught business and bankruptcy law at Harvard before being requested by Obama to be part of his administration. Warren is running for the Senate in Mass. As to Katie, I personally interviewed her after I read Gretchen’s article and I quote Katie throughout a piece of litigation that I filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court entitled Grossman v Bayview. Katie then was employed as a Professor of Law by the University of California at Berkeley, one of the best law schools in the country. Katie then took an appointment at the University of California at Irvine where she presently is a Professor Law. She is great. Anything she write I would recommend that you read. I have not yet read the book.
