This story was first broken by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and then picked up by the usual right-wing suspects. The local paper of course reported it directly from the lips of the homophobic student, his homophobic parents, and the homophobic Liberty (sic) Counsel shill. Don’t ever expect, however, that the local paper or any other news organization will now try to report the other side of this. Ain’t gonna happen.

You’ll get used to it. I have lived in Texas my whole life. I can’t imagine life as an out gay man in a state where I have some rights, protections, and acceptance. Maybe scientists and generally open-minded people all feel the same way. C’est la vie.
