your last paragraph was right on.
Remembering who/what owns that network, it is best to adopt your point as fact.
I always bristled when I heard tweety pronounce 0 as ‘liberal’
Today he was the lone voice railing at the cooption of conservadems, and was basically told by rendell and heilman, ‘welcome to the corrupt world of ownership by financial services’…
0 dug this hole with the first shovelful of his betrayal three years ago and now has quislings like booker, ford and rendell pissing on his leg.
    karma.

willard raw money has absolutely no reason to respond to the outrage of the left/old folks/needy/unemployed/people who didn’t vote for him, if there is a budgetary attack on the social fabric.
republicans are a fig leaf for 0 to cave. rawmoney with a republican congress at his back will stampede social security, madicare and medicaid.
We will be block granted into door number 3 in front of death panels.
We have to hope for a democratic house, otherwise we are really doomed.

It will be interesting to see if tweety falls into line.
He was white hot yesterday, and it seems that Krystal Ball and Steve Kornacki had his back after the maddow fluffing last night.
We’ll see if he lets this thing go this afternoon.

‘But the irony of Booker getting savaged by Democratic partisans, to the extent that he had to do damage control on Rachel Maddow’

He was justifiably resavaged by Crystal Ball and Steve Kornacki, with Martin Bashir after the maddow display…
rachel reached the mariana trench of village stenography last night.
She adopted the david gregory approach of no follow up and let booker filabuster and bloviate his way through without an apology or retraction.
She then had mrs greenspan come on and teller what a ‘hot story’ she got.
I’m sure if she has any conscience left, she was steamed by Ball and Kornacki calling out the nothingness of her stroking booker.

  • tweety has spewed 2 hours of apoplexy over this. booker is one thing, then he was doubled down by fellow nubian quisling harold ford.
both of these guys are reagan ‘democrats’ and should be drummed from the party.

  • I think it has already been infiltrated by FBI and para law enforcement. The idiot ‘rioting’ that went down in a coordinated fashion on May day is a canary.

  • Totally agree. Harris was spawned from the same petrie dish that spawned schneiderman. It is kabuki, brown will be able to raid within 6 months.

  • It would be a at least 15 million per year pay cut. So no, talk is cheap.

  • I hope someone can help me with some comprehension.
In various accounts this transaction(s) are referred to as ‘bets’ or hedges.
In simple parlance, since 2 Billion was ‘lost’, was this a stack of dollars 2 billion worth?
    What was the wager?
    To whom? About what?
Is it, in essence a promissory note?
This supposed to be related to corporate credit in some way. My spidey sense has a bit of MF Global scenting the air.
schniderman was on with alex wagner, he is an ass hat, wagner is increasingly pathetic.

This depression is being exploited by corporations/business as well as the republican party. As much as 0 is a tawdry puppet of the business sector, they turned on him in a minute. Now that they are relatively safe from prosecutions and the supreme court has practically codified fraud and and major fiduciary crimes, business can [...]

  • ‘It becomes tiresome to repeat, but it cannot be said enough. There is not much outrage from liberals or progressives on this. If they are upset, they have chosen to be silent and complicit. They have accepted that nothing can be done because Obama supports the illegal and intrusive expansions of the surveillance state in the same manner that a GOP president would. So, they find it really doesn’t matter if they make this an issue. Or they really have no problem with Obama engaging in all this surveillance and any rage they had under Bush was purely partisan.’

No, what is tiresome, is to list the litany of outrages that have disgusted liberals. Aside from getting over the betrayal, which came within three months of inauguration and exponentially increased with each successive month. It is more exhaustion.
I’m not going to list them, however the ‘it doesn’t matter’ thing happens to be the case. That bridge was burned on September 12th 2001, and this last period has been bush’s third term, with 0 throwing gas on the fire.
We have an AG who is worse than fredo, mukasey and ashcroft combined. Only because he serves at the ‘pleasure’ of a president who demands an agnosticism to the rule of what used to be law. They are accessories to fraud, war crimes, obstruction of justice, and totally ignoring the pollution of the Gulf Of Mexico.
The next term, whoever the inhabitant, will not be worse, just more and different.

    1) the media likes the ‘storyline’ for ratings and ad revenues;’

No shit. Recall just who owns the ‘media’ ABC=disney, NBC=GE+Comcast, CBS=Sumner Redstone through National Amusements, its parent, Viacom. Fox=duh, Cnn=duh+tea party, TIME-WARNER. Then there is radio=clear channel…
They care, because it is a source of income and outcome..they are the message delivery for the republicans.
The country is justifiably pissed, there would never have been a ‘teaparty’ if there had been a wall street perp walk within 6 months of the inaugural. The republicans would have been tied in knots and deflected from inventing death panels, which were a total media driven fallacy.

‘If anyone had told me in late 2008 that official unemployment would still be over 8 percent in 2012, I would have found such a prediction too shocking and horrible to believe.’
Hemorrhaging jobs at the rate we were at the beginning, plus a dedicated antithetical congress, plus the economic team that was universally denounced, correctly, by those of us who are regulars to this site.
How the fuck do you think we would have been any lower than where we are at the moment?
I find that statement as troubling as the possibilities we face in seven months.
It is the worst choice I have yet to face. My first vote was McGovern. To vote for the president is voting for what he has done, and not done, to contribute in any way to a republican/romney victory is treasonous….
Yes, a victory for 0 is a republican victory as well.
    I still don’t know how I’ll vote

  • myshadow commented on the blog post There Is No Super Secret Obama Waiting for 2013

Thee is no secret obama waiting in the wings waiting to get reelected and be set free from placating anyone.
He happens to be harold fords’ older brother, by any measure he has governed as a republican who codified equal pay for women. I have stopped listening to him, and avoid being lied to. The litany is clear, there will be drone flights, rendition, deportations and no prosecutions of war crimes, theft or fraud in the next four years if he is reelected and dope will be legalized when there are daisies on his mortal chest.
The only real choice we have in seven months is to put in a republican or a complete pandering corporate screwball, who will be dealing with an insane congress.
The pigeons are coming home to shit in january when the obush tax cuts, the tax holiday, and the idiotic grand bargain are in our faces.
Already, the idiot congress will fund the military over food stamps.
By january we are in for a serious reaming.

  • I don’t think there is any need to have a headline like this for this particular story.
It would be easy, and factual, for nugent to say he never said the President needs to be shot.
He was spewing the paranoia the right has about an intrusive government.
There isn’t a day that goes by that doesn’t have a posting here, about the dubious constitutionality of something this administration is doing, or the malfeasance of the DOJ’s inaction regarding crimes like bank fraud or any other provable criminality. Rendition, drone flights, here or abroad. Reportage that has a foundation in reality.
At another point in this harangue nugent said he would be ‘dead or in jail’ in a year if the President were reelected. So yes, it would be ‘interesting’ to have him clarify that statement, and expand on the meaning, or thinking behind his thinking.
Or, for that matter to report on what he said for 10 minutes about the ‘crimes’ the country is committing, that he would equate to a urinating coyote.

Well said. The magnitude of this coverup is, well, as big as Japan and expanding. Tokyo is on the brink of needing some kind of evacuation scenario. That is 30 million people who need to be moved from greater harm’s way. Last week, Japan/Tokyo was hit with heavy winds that elevated ambient toxicity by 4 [...]

  • That was my very first thought, and I don’t think it is specious.

  • I have to second your thoughts and add, even further. 0 DOES NOT support single payer. He is too beholden to the insurance companies in a way that an ‘autonomous’ second term would seem to permit, he thinks like them. I doin’t care ‘what happened to his mother’, he sure didn’t ACT like someone who cared about anyone but ‘healthy business sectors’ including insurance, and drugs.
This is a guy who could find no criminality in the behavior of bushco and the financial sector, and that’s a wide swath of crime.
This also the guy who was eager to deal away huge chunks of Social Security, medicare and Medicaid as part of a ‘grand bargain’.
0 aside I don’t think there will be the empathic votes in congress after this election to make that happen with any compelling sense of urgency, a fig leaf 0 would gladly hide his johnson with, and ‘blame’ congress for whatever republican dogma he would deem to pass if reelected.
Finally, a whole flock of pigeons are coming home to shit in January.
bush tax cuts, the idiot social security tax holiday, and the big debt ceiling deal.
We are in for a world of hurt no matter what.

You can add ‘in the tank’ as well. CH’s wife is a white house staffer, so there are lines he won’t cross. Both he and MHP are 0bots in the same order of stephanie miller.
I used to be a big fan, but she is an apologist/advocate, and without Jim Ward the show would totally suck.
MHP is interesting as well but again, the 0bot thing gets in the way.
I realize we are confronted with either the republicans win and we are burnt toast or 0 is reelected and we are toast.
Will they notice the emperor’s johnson is out with their lips on lock.
