That history is from the book “1421 the year China discovered America” by Gavin Menzies. It’s a very interesting read that will change a persons view of the history we all “know”.

  • Didn’t the Supreme Court tell us that Corporations are people now? I wonder if any of Schumer’s or Casey’s corporate…I mean “people”…. donors are involved in any type of overseas “tax avoidance scheme”?

I have to agree with mswinkle Jon.

This article fails. It’s 8 long boring paragraphs about a candidate whose main position is that he’s against man-on-dog sex…and not a word about the only anti-war, anti-drug war, anti-dollar devaluation and pro-personal liberty candidate the R’s (or the D’s) might nominate.

And please don’t tell me Ron Paul will give away Social Security and Medicare. Obama’s already offered that and asked nothing in return.

    Not recommended.

“What must be done is to wrest the ownership of the system at hand from the 1% Corporate Fascists who own and operate the Judiciary, Congress and The Executive . . . Now, how that ownership is WRESTED from the might of the 1%, I don’t know. ” Don’t worry Larue, Justin doesn’t have a [...]

Golly Justin…if opposing Fascism is as easy as just refusing “play”, as in a game of Tic Tac Toe, perhaps you could tell us why that didn’t occur to FDR and Eisenhower when they were faced with the problem? Still…you’re to be commended for at least having a viewpoint…which is probably more than can be [...]

We need candidates that labor can get behind. Without candidates, the DNC meme is accurate….labor has no one to vote for but mainstream, corporate-owned, Dems. And we need candidates quickly. Every Californian should be encouraging someone to primary Feinstein…I suggest Robert Reich. And every member of the 99% should be finding someone to primary Obama….or [...]

  • We need someone we CAN vote for to dump Obama.

NO! The key to to NOT give this President another term…and a lame duck term at that…where he can continue to destroy the New Deal and the Democratic party, at will, for 4 more years. We need to find someone to primary him…and quickly.

It sure does matter. Next weeks giveaways…I mean speech…is most definitely part of the jobs speech. From Bloomberg and the last part of the article:

“Obama will call on Congress to offset the cost of the short-term jobs measures by raising tax revenue in later years. This would be part of a long-term deficit reduction package, including spending and entitlement cuts as well as revenue increases, that he will present next week to the congressional panel charged with finding ways to reduce the nation’s debt [...]

Obama will unveil a framework for the deficit reductions next week, including changes to Medicare and Medicaid, in addition to other cuts in contributions to military pensions and farm subsidies.

What a deal! For the sake of a jobs plan that has no chance of passing, old people and veterans get shafted!”

If this wasn’t such a serious mistake on Obama’s part it would be hilariously stupid.

Only $300B? And half tax cuts? And yet another plan to give things away and get nothing in return? Does Obama think we don’t know that Bernanke just got done giving TWICE that much…$600B…to banks in the form of QE2 in only 6 months?

HEY OBAMA…..tax cuts don’t cause job creation sir.

If Pat Robertson was living on it he’d first have to deal with the local inhabitants called, of course……..wait for it………..Blingons.

  • Mr. Secretary, you were a Bush appointee who President Obama got a lot of criticism over when he decided to keep you in his administration.

With that as background….is there any risk that you lose all credibility over this downgrade by S&P?

    No risk of that.

Pardon my lack of knowledge about how Congress works….but…didn’t I read somewhere here a few days ago that the R’s would be keeping the Senate officially in session after they left D.C. in order to prevent a recess appointment of Richard Cordray as head of the CFPB?

Well, if it’s in session, can’t they call in the Dems and vote on the FAA issue? And if not, can’t Obama appoint Cordray to head the CFPB in a recess appointment?

    Probably a simplistic question…but…anybody?

Thanks szielinski…. the final vote tally is much appreciated.

I see my guy Clavert…an R…voted yes. No surprise there. I see Loretta Sanchez (D) voted yes…that surprises me a little…so no more donations or walking for her. I hope her whole district, right next to mine, dumps her when they find out what she did.

All,,,,see szielinskis note at “show text” here for link to final vote tally.
