Most 3D printers are rented so that means the manufactures have some control over how they’re used. That will change as the first ones for sale are coming out at $2000+ each but the price will go down as time goes on.

The bill that Senator Schumer mentioned is toothless. It basically says that if you have a printer you shouldn’t print out a gun. However there is no way to stop you from doing so and therefore no punishments unless you get caught.

They could have stolen it from Assad’s stockpiles. Its mostly kept as separate chemicals, both of which as nasty by themselves, because sarin is a corrosive.

Best course of action in all of this is to stay far, far away. Don’t support any of the sides in this mess.

And if I said that you or the New York Times or Kos or FireDogLake shouldn’t get aired you would agree with me, correct?

Freedom of speech means the ones you disagree with have a right to speak. You just don’t have to listen is all.

  • Instead of making DC a state, why not just give all of it except the part around the capital, white house, and the mall to Maryland? The First Family can be the only official residents of the the new district.

I’m in southern Minnesota and 2-3 trains a day go through with long lines of tank cars headed east. A few years ago everybody was upset that the rail company was going to do this with coal trains from Wyoming but that got scuttled due to the EPA cracking down on coal plants.

I read this on a conservative blog so take it with a huge grain of salt but it does make a little sense.

Someone with the Mccain 2008 campaign said they saw the records back when they were vetting Mitt for the VP slot. Actually saw 10 years worth of records. According to this. person, there is nothing in them except that Mitt overpaid his taxes.

Why wouldn’t he release them then? If that’s the case, and I think this is fiction myself, releasing them when everybody is yelling for them could put a bit of egg on faces. There’s no ‘there’ there and all that.

  • Taking large risks is one thing. Especially if its with your own money. This however is just stupid. By giving them a form or insurance and telling them ‘Don’t worry, you won’t lose your shirts because someone is watching your back.’ they take worse and worse risks. We’re the idiots that have to pay for their ‘fun’.

If nasty to think this because of the pain for the innocent that will occur but I hope the whole damn system comes down. I may be conservative but even I know we can’t go on as is. Let it fall and use the pieces to build something better.

  • If we’re going to downsize the number of soldiers/marines can we also downsize some of the 700,000 civilian employees of the Defense Department as well?

Also, change the name back to the ‘Department of War’ to reflect its real role.

Just as sure of that as Jason Leopold was of Karl Rove’s ‘indictment’? :P

  • The questionnaire looks more like a generic one that’s geared to the lowest common denominator. That is, a country were there is a security issue and potential dangers. Australia isn’t of course but the person filling out of the forms has to fit the answers to the questions.

Take a look at this cable about Algeria: http://www.aftenposten.no/spesial/wikileaksdokumenter/article4016866.ece Same questions but the answers are a lot different.

I doubt there is anything special about these other then how the country is seen through the eyes of some State Dept drone. I bet France, UK, Russia, etc do the same about the US.

You and me both. The old line about not wanting to see sausage made fits these past few weeks.

I’ll freely admit to being a conservative but I’m also one who’s tired of all the games that are played on both sides. To Repubs and Dems in DC: sit down and do your damn jobs like we sent you there to do. No more games or procedures or shouting please. Find the middle ground, which is there if you look hard enough, and make the country great again.

If you don’t, well I guess we’ll just have to find some replacements for you.

I like to think that if you had a room full of liberals and conservatives, not screaming/throwing tantrums/etc but with open minds we could come up with some great ideas.

    Just a dream I guess.
