Don’t even read this 1% wannabe’s posts. He’s a shill. Probably working for some “business association” or chamber of commerce.

Dear NPR, I received your response, below. Unfortunately, it doesn’t square with the email you sent your employees, which in tone and substance clearly indicated you didn’t approve fog Ms. Simeone’s exercise of her First Amendment rights. What seems likely is that one of your corporate sponsors reacted and you then reacted. Perhaps more likely, [...]

  • Congresswoman Susan Davis in CA (San Diego) refuses to sign with the Progressive Caucus. Let’s target her with calls: Representative Susan Davis: (202) 225-2040. Her office is saying she won’t sign on with the Progressive Caucus and is “looking at a variety of options.” Let her know what you think! The time for action is now and 100 calls might change her mind.

  • This is all sound and fury to give them cover hen the announce they have to vote for the package to avoid an economic meltdown. There will be lots of weeping, weasel-wording and regret-sharing, but the bottom lines is:

CLASS is dead. Pell grants are dead. Stafford loan interest deferral is dead. The home mortgage deduction is dead. Social Security will die. Medicare will be cut, Medicaid will be cut, middle class taxes will go up, corporate taxes will go down and taxes on the top 1% will go down.

The middle class is nothing but fatted hogs to the slaughter pen. None of these Dems will do a thing. I’m screwed, you’re screwed, your parents are screwed, your children are screwed, and they’ll whine, “Well at least you have to vote for him for the sake of the Court.” He’s counting on that, and I’m not that stupid. Four years of Obersturmbanfuhrer Bachmann would be better than more of The Great Compromiser. To paraphrase a long-gone liberal, “America may need to see Hitler in the White House to wake up to what’s being done to them.”

Was talking to a friend’s daughter, who is a veteran Democratic Congressional aide, and she said there’s lots of tough talk behind closed doors and in the caucuses, but in the light of day, it all goes away. She said she marvels at how clueless and out of touch the Beltway is, and that the skewed perceptions of what the country thinks and needs are truly amazing. Not being able to buy a house, not being able to send your kids to the college of their choice, not being able to afford to take a vacation, not being able to get affordable health care and not being able have anyone in Washington stand up for those who work for a living signals the end of the American Dream. She says those in Congress and the White House no longer relate to the values of the country and see their mission as insulating the wealthy and powerful from the rampages of extremists of both the left and the right. In other words, if it isn’t good for Wall Street or the bankers, it isn’t good for the country. This is Congress seeing the country through a set of crystals as fantastic as those of Joseph Smith.
