Supreme Court decisions for this term will be released in mid to late June.

I expect NOTHING will change. The Church will continue down the conservative, destructive course it’s on.

nugirl commented on the blog post Boy Scouts controversy pits President Obama against anti-gay groups
The Girl Scouts accept everybody, lesbians, transgender girls and atheists, and it hasn’t been a problem. Why can’t the Boy Scouts institute similar inclusive policies?

nugirl commented on the blog post President Obama Didn’t Fold Trans People Into The American Family
People like you will NEVER be satisfied. Maybe you want to be out and proud and eat, sleep and breath politics, but a lot of us don’t. I have something called a life and politics comes in way down the list of priorities. Sometimes I’m involved in politics, but not often. I’m also very satisfied, overjoyed in fact, at the progress we’ve made in the last 4 years. And that’s why I’m flabbergasted by the ridiculous “note” of yours. Imagine if you will if McCain or Romney were president! Be grateful for what we have. Being a thankless b*tch isn’t t a pre-requisite for an activist.

nugirl commented on the blog post President Obama Didn’t Fold Trans People Into The American Family
I am a fully transitioned woman and I am not impressed by Autumn’s whining. You list a lot of amazing things that were accomplished during the last 4 years and you WHINE? WTF is wrong with you? I would say this is like someone back in 1969 not being impressed with the moon landing. I mean why didn’t we go to Mars? This isn’t activism Autumn, it’s WHINING.

nugirl commented on the blog post Iowa court #FAIL: boss can fire an employee for being ‘too hot’ — an ‘irresistible attraction’
I hope someone appeals this stupid decision. I’d really like to see the US Supreme Court reprimand this court for making a mockery of justice.

Yes, he does. He said he feared this treaty would give other the right to tell him how to parent or some such malarkey.

nugirl commented on the blog post Gender Identity Disorder Diagnosis Is Quietly, Without Much MSM Notice, Going Away
The news was too good to last. Just a few hours after I read about the DSM announcement I read the following warning from Julia Serano:

Dr Blanchard hasn’t given up on oppressing us yet.

nugirl commented on the blog post Another ‘movement’ in the works to undermine Obama’s second term?
I just shake my head when I see them using images of Reagan. Reagan would NOT approve of these morons. In fact if these morons were honest they’d admit Reagan was way too liberal for them. And yet they use his image. These guys have more in common with fascists than Reagan.

nugirl commented on the blog post Guests on Joy Behar’s Current show discuss the tired meme of the ‘post-racial society’
From the “You lie!” guy, to the Supreme Court justice talking during the State of the Union speech, to the guy interrupting the Presidents speech the other day, to the continuing blatant racism of Teabagger republicans and their supporters…
It’s pretty damn clear we still have a BIG problem with race in this country. What’s worrying is how most people are forgiving of this behavior.

nugirl commented on the blog post Will the Family Research Council acknowledge error of using recanted study?
We are not dealing with rational people here. Anyone who expects them to recant is as crazy as they are. Just look at their track record. Lots of people have denounced them for misusing their research and we have yet to them recant even once.

nugirl commented on the blog post At 93, Billy Graham endorses anti-gay amendment, decides to go out with a bigoted bang
Do we know for sure he really authored this? Or maybe it’s the people around him that are using him for their own evil ends. The man is 93 and I have seen a LOT of people mentally deteriorate in their later years and seen others take advantage of that. I think it shows how desperate the opposition is.

nugirl commented on the blog post A Shopping List Of Trans Women’s Shame
Flow In and ProdiGAL I think you’re missing her point. She was smelly making a list of POSSIBLE shame issues trans people MAY deal with. She isn’t saying everyone deals with all that.
That’s the trouble with that kind of post, it tends to get misinterpreted so easy; that’s why I thought PHB was not the best venue for it. This is an post for an online support group of people in transition. And even then the discussion should be closely monitored so people learn from it.

nugirl commented on the blog post A Shopping List Of Trans Women’s Shame
That was depressing! Although it might be accurate that people may have some of these thought during transition, it usually does get better. And many of us are able to put the shame issues behind us. For that reason I wonder if this very long list is appropriate for this site. Unless you explain, as I have, that people can and do.succeed, I worry they may get the wrong impression.
There is life after transion and that life is good.

nugirl commented on the blog post Equal Employment Opportunity Commission rules gender-identity discrimination is covered by Title VII
This EEOC ruling basically extends the Schroer ruling, which was only in a federal District Court, nationwide. That’s HUGE. If true do trans people really need to worry about ENDA anymore?

nugirl commented on the blog post Equal Employment Opportunity Commission rules gender-identity discrimination is covered by Title VII
Funny that article didn’t even mention Schroer vs the Library of Congress which was virtually identical to this recent case. The federal District Court ruled in favor of Diane Schroer stating gender identity was considered part of what is traditionally called “sex” and therefore covered by Title VII:
